Who will be the first auto manufacturer to integrate the Apple iPhone? Exclusive info.

One of the most exciting technology announcements so far this year, if not THE most exciting, is the news of the forthcoming Apple iPhone.

The big question is once you have the phone, what car company will be the first to integrate its feature set into their cars.

And not just bluetooth.

Reliable sources tell us there are rumors that BMW will be the first to announce full integration of the iPhone features into the next 7-Series.

Yep, BMW will most likely have the iPhone integration first. The new 7-series Ive heard will also load your iPod into the dash and come up on the iDrive screen. Cant wait.

I am agreeing with the BMW fans here. BMW will be first because they simply were the first to integrate the iPod. The only sad thing about the iPhone is that it will be Cingular only for a while.

$500 for the 4GB, $600 for the 8GB. I think. Those figures might be $100 more than actual prices- but I don't think so.

It would make sense that this happened, because of the Apple collaboration. BMW will try to stun the world with the next 7 like they did originally. The S-Class has shoved it out of the limelight, and BMW wants in.

I don't think this is a really big issue since the phone isn't even out yet and is only being offered by one carrier. Who knows if it will even be a hit.

BMW is out selling its competitors and exceeding their sales projections. This company innovates which is why their cars are not for everyone. iDrive works just fine, without it the dash would be a mess. As soon as the iphone is available, I'll own one, I've been using Cingular for the past two years and been very pleased with their service.

The iDrive hardware is not to blame. The user interface is poor. BMW should of teamed up with a better software company (Apple perhaps?) who could of pointed out some of the mistakes early on.
