Automotive News is reporting today that the Detroit 3 inventories rose going into February following a soft January sales

Automotive News is reporting today that the Detroit 3 inventories rose going into February following a soft January sales. However both their Japanese and European counterparts inventories remained somewhat leaner overall.

 

Entering February overall industry inventories were at an 80 day supply compared to 63 day supply for the month of January.

Remember luxury car dealers have less inventory than someone like Chevy, Ford, or Toyota.

Wait, what I meant to say is that since non-luxury vehicles sell more there are more inventory which is produced. So the non-luxury models are higher.

Will, if VW was the lowest European brand, and BMW was the highest, they obviously allowed luxury brands. So how could Audi have been lower than the lowest?

Use logic.

psst ... the higher number reflects a larger supply and lower turn rate which is a bad thing .... If Vw is at 101 ( then they are the highest and the worse off ) where as BMW is only at a turn rate of 32 ( which is the best ) .... Again BMW is #1
