Volkswagen Gets To Keep Its ‘Toys’
Volkswagen chief Martin Winterkorn, has dispelled rumours suggesting that the company was looking to sell its supercar marques, Lamborghini and Bugatti.

During a recent interview, Winterkorn told German newspaper Suddeutsche Zeitung that ‘development in the upper segments undertaken by Lamborghini and Bugatti had been advantageous for all the other brands under the German car maker’s control.’

GOOD. It wasn't VW's idea to sell these brands- it was Porsche's. Porsche, being greedy, didn't want a single competitor if the VW Group was to be their company. Weideking, take that!

High priced exotic cars are a symbol of prestige for VW. It means they can afford to keep these brands even if they don't make as much money as they would want to because of the limited quantities and the amount of attention each brand requires. Maybe Porsche just wants all the attention and (funds) to itself.
