Spy Photos and Video: 2009 Nissan Skyline GT-R Caught Lapping at Sears Point Raceway
Our spy shooters scored again after following the 2009 Nissan Skyline GT-R from L.A. to Northern California. Turns out, Nissan was headed to Sears Point raceway for some hot laps giving our guys another opportunity to snag some exclusive spy photos and video. Nissan's engineers were making lots of tire and wheel changes so we expect this excursion to California was a bit of fine tuning before the final specs are locked down for production. And one more thing: According to some hand timed laps taken by our photographers, the GT-R was lapping the 2.5-mile road course within tenths of the Porsche 911 Turbo brought along for comparison.

I don't think I like the styling on this car.

Why not??

Because it looks like an IS-F.

No it doesn't. Not even one bit. How is it like an IS-F?

The vent right behind the front wheel.

Pull both cars up and they look similar.

Who's gonna pay for a $70K Nissan?

Those enthusiasts who love performace of the 911 turbo but can't afford the price of top end porche. hehehe

I would be in line for it if I got the money.

This is really making you nervous isn't it weaponX? Dont worry you're not alone; every other closed minded German car's fans are with you. And see what happens when you get nervous, you ask stupid questions.
To be a real car enthusiast you must admit when you see a great performance car.

Worried? LOL! No.

This is not a question of performance and engineering.

I’m just asking the question what 99% of the uninitiated will ask…..which is….do you really expect me to shell out $70K for a Nissan?

VW tried selling the Phaeton and look how it turned out. In the land of premium autos perception and image counts big time. I'm pretty sure I'm not the only close minded person who thinks this.

Looking good.

I'm still wondering what the final interior will be. I think for a lot of people the interior design/quality level will greatly affect the acceptance of such a high-priced Nissan.

I hope the Nissan corporate guys make everything about this car special, including the ad campaign and dealer service/knowledge.

I'm a German car fan, but an enthusiast first. I can't wait to see and drive one. As far as interior goes this is the company that brought us Infinity and their interiors are pretty nice.

Too much publicity for a car that's not even scheduled for release until late next year.

haha i believe there were many other GTR's before this, and I did not see an invasion. Wait for this to come out and the reaction of the Euro car makers will be fantastic - simply bringing out car's that will beat it in every facet of it's existence!

Question: When is this supposedly "most anticipated" Nissan skyline suppose to come out anyway??? I heard its coming out this year. Anyone knows the specs, price...design on it etc.?
