Spy Shots: Ferrari F430 Challenge Stradale
More spy images of Ferrari’s upcoming F430 Challenge Stradale have appeared, this time taken near the sports carmaker’s home in Maranello. The CS is due for introduction towards the end of this year, with a more powerful version of the 4.3L V8. Final output will be a Gallardo-rivalling 525hp at 8500rpm with max torque of 475Nm at 5750rpm.

To crank out the extra power, Ferrari engineers will be tweaking the exhaust system with new tail pipes placed higher in the rear bar, and will tinker with the ECU. Larger disc brakes and callipers will be fitted all ‘round along with new tires.

The final version will be differentiated from the standard F430 with unique light-weight alloy wheels and a new front bumper with larger air-intakes. The body will also weigh up to 200lbs less than the current car thanks to the extensive use of carbon-fiber and aluminium.

The exhaust is also higher so that the gentleman racers don't bend up the tips when they bump on the track.

that is a random comparison...the new NSX will be a front engine GT, not mid-engined...so then you would have to compare it to the 599GTB...which will smoke the NSX any day...and rightly so because it costs a heavy premium as well.

Ferrari has nothing to fear from Honda. It will never sell, as the previous NSX did not.
Ferrari won't make the CS, a model they have always made, just to compete with a mythical Honda that may or may not come out in 3/4/5 years. Your logic is ridiculous.

Ferrari has always been sticking to their same criteria in design and innovation. This F430 is completely remarkable in looks, style and prestige. It will be another challenge to its never-ending rival: "Lambo".

Look like Lambo need to add more hp to their Gallardo model. I mean it only make sense to add more hp to their model. Especially with this F430 Challenge Stradale coming out with 525 hp and the Audi R8.

Honda hasn't said anything about an NSX full stop. It could be a 3 cylinder rear engined bicycle for all we know. It probably isn't even in testing yet, only design stage.

Beautiful. The F430, while not as visually arresting as the Gallardo, is just very elegant and prettier than its more expensive cousins.

Yeah but I'd take an F430 over a Gallardo anyday...If I could afford one that is.

Lambo is upadating the Gallardo next year, probably it'll have a 550HP engine. In Geneva, probably a lightweight and RWD Gallardo is going to be presented.

This is btw not really a competitor for the Gallardo, it will probably be a great deal more expensive and it will be more like the Porsche GT3 RS, a stripped out racer for the road.

When you put this F430 next the Lambo Gallardo for comparison, the Gallardo blew the competition out of the way. The F430 is stunning but no where near the greatness of Gallardo. The Gallardo look so much more aggressive and elegant.

If I had the money I would definitely get a yellow Lambo Gallardo for sure:)

Yeah but while the Gallardo may look better, the F430 in one of the most fulfilling production car's you could ever drive.

"Most fulfilling" is a matter purely of personal perception, of course.
