Renault and Nissan Have No Interest In Alliance With Chrysler

The Renault-Nissan auto alliance has scratched itself from the list of potential buyers of DaimlerChrysler's Chrysler division, despite exploring a North American partnership last year.

Tokyo-based Nissan, 44 percent owned by Renault SA of France, is always open new alliances but in no rush to do so now because it is focusing on its own financial woes, spokeswoman Madoka Soma said Wednesday.

Carlos Ghosn, head of both automakers, entered unsuccessful partnership talks with Detroit-based General Motors Corp. last year and has send a North American ally would be a good balance for the company. But after Nissan reported a 22 percent slump in earnings in the October-December quarter, priorities have changed.

Ah, don't bash the big M-B. S-Class, SL-Class, CL-Class, GL-Class, CLK-Class, CLS-Class, E-Class... those are all "inferior quality"? I think not. Pretty much the opposite.

Nobody is going to want chrysler. Mercedes raided the 10 billion chrysler had. Chrysler is now offering $6000 off some models, they can't sell cars and trucks, its a recipe for disaster. Mercedes also could not change the atmosphere at chrysler and start them improving quality, instead of saying we can make money on repairs. Look what that attitude has gotten GM.

You know, I feel really bad for Chrysler, but Im more upset with them. I just cannot believe they let themselves fall after the "success" of the 300. I you look at sales you would see that they need to upgrade their sedans, but instead they produce the hidious Sebring...I still have not forgave them for that.
