Success At What Price?: Suicides at Renault Prompt Investigation

Kayyyyy...Thats wierd..Either Ghosn is torturing thses poor people or Renault is in a bunchh of probs

“What happened to Pierre?”
“Pierre?… he uhhh… pushed himself off a building.”
“Uh huh… and what about Jacques?”
“He stabbed himself.”
“14 Times?”
“Yeah. He didn’t like where he worked.”
“I see... What about Aimé?”
“Aimé didn’t realize the concrete he was standing in had dried. When he tried to break himself loose, he fell of the pier.”

Three people “committing suicide” because they don’t like where they work seems astronomically unlikely to me. Maybe France is different (ok, it’s considerably different from where I’m from, but still) When someone hates their job, they tend to quit. When they REALLY hate their job and go off the deep end, they go to work with a hand gun and perhaps a couple grenades, depending on their resources. Working conditions should not be the only thing the police investigate here.

I believe that France has relatively high suicide rates [Continental Europe in general does as well as Asia and the former Soviet States]. I seem to recall one frenchman in particular who won the "Darwin Award":

He had decided that he was going to kill himself and so contrived to hang himself. Thinking, he wanted to make sure it would work, and so, he decided to hang himself by throwing himself off of a cliff overlooking the sea. Again he thought it might not work so he decided to light himself on fire before hand. That of course is a horrible way to die, so he decided that he would also shoot himself in the process. So he contrived to hang himself over the cliff whilst on fire and shooting himself.

When he went to do this; he threw himself over the cliff, shot the gun which severed the rope, and he plunged into the sea extinguishing the fire. A boat picked him up. He died 3 days later: of hypothermia.

Ghosn gets knighted and then his employees kill themselves. Seems logical to me. Guy gets all the praise and glory when things are good. But when things go bad, he takes none of the blame then points to the poor french peasant workers.

These french executives should take their jobs more lightly. Look at GM and Ford Execs as examples....
