Am i crazy or does that look a lot like a G35?

I'm thinkin it looks like a Lexus GS, but that will just infuriate Euro fans, because Euro cars never look like Japanese cars.

Only Japanese car fans are dumb enough to make pointless styling judgements on a car covered in camo.

Note that isn't actually the real window line, it will continue downwards like a 911. So that pretty much rules out your GS theory.

But I am sure you will find some more styling BS to feed us with.

That isn't me infuriated, that's me not being very nice.

My statement was not triggered by the mention of Lexus, however. Actually, it is the whole 'this car looks like that car' phenomenon on Autospies, which I assume d1sinfo was referring to.

1970toyotamarc COULD have discussed its styling in general (but remember it is still camo'd) and popped in a mention about the GS, instead his post was along the lines of "It looks like a GS" and left it at that.

Obviously he was merely trying to provoke reaction, while not trying to back up his 'revelation'.

The thing is, any Joe can say one car looks like another. That's easy. My mum could have just as easily said it looks like a Saab, what with its sloping rear.

Here at Autospies, I expected a higher level of automotive discussion, because to me this 'looks like' business is pretty low on the engagement scale.

At least if you are going to do it, do it right.

I'm a Japanese car fan, but although it has some similar lines to the G35 or Lexus, but it will look different in person, it will definitly be fatter.

My first thoughts were Lexus GS as well.

If you want a sporty four door sedan/saloon and you think about buying this you really shouldn't be buying one at all. There are companies that are beyond fantastic when it comes to their large and mid-sized sedans.

And there are companies that are really, beyond amazing when it comes to their two door coupes/cars.

Stay with what you know.

UGLY. I would rather have the XJR, M5, Maser Quattro, any AMG, S-Type R, S4, S6, S8, M3, M6... and the list goes on. I'm sure the Porsche will perform well, but so do all of these and they look so much better.

You constantly live up your brand bigotry. Lacking the ability to rationally discuss things like styling. Opinion or not, it is a discussion, his opinion can be questioned and discussed. His opinion is that it looks like a GS, my opinion is that it is a little to camo to decide what it looks like.

BTW Mathew. I am a Japanese car fan, I am a German car fan, I am an American car fan. Lets just say I am a fan of driving. Assumptions about fans of certain car companies based upon that companies origins is asinine.

Back to you will. If it was a personal opinion I would have never known about it. He made it a public opinion when he made a comment.

On another note which actually contributes to the subject. I to agree that the camo version of the car does have some GS lines to it. On the other-hand it also has Porsche lines stretched out, which I think is a more accurate way to describe its camo looks. Unless of course Lexus is making claims to Porsche lines..

I without a doubt will be buying this Porsche :)

Personal opinion, and personal opinion posted on a forum(or whatever you call this) are 2 different things.

One is open to public commentary, one is not, because no one knows about it. He can have his opinion (which BTW I stated I actually agree with in some way or another), and I can share with him how I agree or disagree, and I can judge the validity of his opinion. He can chose to respond or not respond. I would hope he would chose to respond as that is what builds healthy discussion.

I was not triggered by your response, I just notice that you are a lexus fan, and you let your fan, die hard feelings get in the way of argument and discussion. It bothers me when people defend brands as if they are a part of there body. I might compare it to fundamentalist religious beliefs.... Then again that might be a bit extreme.

Is your fundamentalist beliefs in toyota and all that is toyota that strong?

Why is OK for a German brand fan to spew biased love/hate statements, but a Japanese brand fan is not afforded the same opportunity here?

And yes, the Porsches in the photos bare a resemblence to the Lexus GS. Are they being disguised? Yes. Could that still be close to final design we are seeing? I don't know. But unless you are accessing the autospies website from a certain office in Stuttgart, you don't know either.

There are plenty of badge whores here to nicely represent both Germany and Japan. Stop acting like the Lexus fans are the only ones who post over-eager or inaccurate statements.

The problem is, I was called dumb and was accused of feeding bs for my 'public" commentary. That's not what is expected in civil discourse, not even on blogs.

And why shouldnt Will post something in support of a statement I make. I dont think either of us makes any bones about which cars we prefer.

My love of Toy/Lex, however, has nothing to do with why I think the Panamera looks like a GS. If I thought it looked like an Acura RL (A Japanese car that I dont like) I would say so. I posed no judgment on the car, and expressed no favorable or unfavorable opinion. I merely commented on a styling cue that was obivious enough to be noticed by others as well. And it provoked the exact reaction that I anticipated. I think that speaks for itself.

I do not spew love or hate. Cars are cars to me, no mater what manufacturer. They all get a fairly clean slate... except Chrysler :)

Your comment has no qualification to it. You did not say It looks like a GS, but that's just because the camo. You not only stated it looks like a GS, and on top of that added the euro car fan jab. Which if you wouldn't have done would have kept this a fairly tame discussion. Free from bickering.

I agree with your opinion, and if my first reply implied that I thought you were dumb, I regret that and withdraw any statements which call you dumb.... I don't think I made any.

I do stick behind my statements about brand loyalty (bigotry). I also stick by my right to critique and comment on your opinion. This also means I can dismiss through argument your opinions validity.

I think the only person in this thread that responded how you expected was Mathew. I thought it would be obvious from my responses that I don't agree with Mathew.

It looks like a Porsche Panamera... to me, at least. I'm sorry if that offends any of you.

The reason some of you think it looks like the Lexus GS/Infiniti G is because the camouflage is covering part of the rear window, making it look like it cuts off with a giant Hoffmeister kink.

I'm surprised that a final evealutation has been given (comments) regarding the appearance of the car when it is clearly heavily camo'd.

It will cost much more than a G35 and it will be a lot faster as well. That's all is needed to be known about this car.

I think it looks like a Cadillac DTS....or maybe Kia Rondo, the front end at least. Or I know! It totally looks like a Honda Accord coupe!!
