Is VW Building a Mid Engine Mini Killer?

I don't know what the draw is when someone comes out with a new drawling or a car, or model of a car to call it a _________ killer. I for one welcome anyone to build a new car to compete with another companies offering. Killer or not.

I mean this could be titled "Is VW going to building a new mid-engine car that will compete against the Mini"?

Europeans - to you this is nothing new. You've found the wonderness of small, fuel efficient cars that [can] have some zip and fun to them.

I'm not buying it.Audi is doing the A1 to take on the Mini. VW would not be cannabalizing sales here. Doesn;t make sense.

Well I just mean I see a lot of those Toyota Yaris on the roads and this VW looks like a competitor.

This doesn't look like a Mini *COMPETITOR* at all. This looks like a disappointingly ugly artist's impression of what a VW *COMPETITOR* could look like. And yes, Audi is making the A1 for this reason. Whoever designed this didn't get the memo.
