Took Delivery Of My 2007 BMW X5 3.0si This Week
Hello all, for those who did not know, I just traded in my faithful 2003 BMW X5 for the redesigned 2007 BMW X5. I am very happy with my decesion.
Key changes over old model:
It's bigger (+7 in lenght, +2 in width)
It's quieter
It's faster (with the 3.0si engine, which replaces the 3.0i. The 4.8i replaces the 4.4i, NOT the 4.8is)
It has a more refined ride.
It has a more technologically advanced interior (nav, bluetooth, backup cam...)
It has a more spacious interior
It handles to some degree better.
And overall, it has matched, and exceeded, the level at which the old model was at.

About mine:
Titanium Silver/Black Leather/Dark Burl Wood

Premium Package
Technology Package
Cold Weather Package
Rear Climate Package (4-zone climate)
Heated Rear Seats

Things I love:
styling
power
interior
bigger trunk
more electronic goodies
Real Time Traffic Reporting
Panoramic Sunroof
headlights
more composed ride
excellent handling
smooth and refined engine
new gearshift is easy and quick to use
cornering lights are very cool when you see them in action

Things I'm not crazy about:

SOME aspects of I-Drive (radio is easy to use, bluetooth is ok. Navi&Climate could be better)
Electronic Parking Brake. I never know if it's up or down by looking at the handle.
Push Button Start is a bit fussy. It involves putting the key in, hit the brake, then hit the button.
Not crazy about the added lenght, but getting used to it.
Backup Camera isn't working great, but parking sensors are good.

Overall, it is a great vehicle.
I am open to any questions you have, but please, make them "smart" questions. :)

It looks better in silver than it does it grey I think. Good colour choice. Did you get 7 seats? in one pic it seems to indicate not. And you resisted the temptation to get massive wheels, which ruin the ride, especially with run-flats. Wait do you even have run flats? There's a spare wheel!?
Nice car you've got there, anyway.

I have a five seater.
I have Bridgestone Dueler 400s. I think they are run flat, but they ride well. I do have a spare tire.

Thanks for the comliments.

congrats on the new ride, excellent choice. I loved the old x5 as well, although finally BMW did a great job on this interior.

Man, I'm starting to grow into BMW again with the 3-Series Coupe and the X5.
