Camaro Platform Could Spawn Ultra-luxury Cadillac

Talking with journalists at the recent Chicago Auto Show, General Motors’ vice chairman Bob Lutz hinted at the possibility of the platform used for the upcoming Camaro spawning an all-new ultra-luxury vehicle from Cadillac. According to The Car Connection, the new car could be available in either RWD or AWD configurations and feature more than eight cylinders, making it a genuine competitor to full-size sedans such as the BMW 7-series or Mercedes S-Class. Pictured above is a V16 concept car built by Cadillac back in 2003 that could hint at a possible design direction for a large Caddy sedan.

I wish they would have actually built the Sixteen. I remeber reading, however, that they determined that the ultra-luxury market was overcrowded.

You know, I find the beboosting beguiling at times. Perhaps some of the more retarded people in the room think that I am somehow negating what the article has stated. First, just a little thing: I don't know under what troglodytes definition of "ultra-Luxury" you would find a S-class or a 7-series, but they really need fix that.

The Cadillac Sixteen [pictured above] would have been classified "ultra-Luxury" were it put into production: it would have carried a price tag of $250,000.00 US. Perhaps they have rethought the idea, but it was most certinaly dead.

I like the Sixteen, the interior is simple, elegant and composed of excellent materials.

The Sixteen is an amazing car, but no it would not have been an S class competitor.
