Audi Sales Up 37.5% for February
Audi of America, Inc. today announced a 37.5% increase in February 2007 sales compared to the same period last year. Sales totaled 6,609, for the month. Sales in 2007 have reached 13,008 vehicles, an increase of 19.4% versus the same period last year.

Sales of the A4 model continue to set the pace for the brand. A4 sales increased 18.6%. The Audi Q7 also continued its strong sales performance with 1,747 deliveries. Audi saw its largest regional sales increase in the West. Sales in the region increased by 57.9% to 2,058. Gains were also seen in key metropolitan areas, including Cleveland (+117.6%), Memphis (+77.1%), Miami (+72.5%), and Los Angeles (+71.1%).

“The A4 model line continues to impress.” stated Johan de Nysschen, Executive Vice President, Audi of America, Inc. “With class-leading fuel economy, excellent residuals, and officially acclaimed safety performance, the A4 offers customers an abundance in choice, luxury, and value.”

Audi Certified Pre-Owned sales hit record levels last month. The February total of 1,936 was a 17.8% increase over the previous year and was the best February ever. CPO sales total 3,795 for 2007, up 11.6% over 2006.

World wide Audi has out sold MB. The US is so image and brand driven they are a little slower to come around but it's comming. Not to mention even with the Q7 Audi has about half the offerings of MB. MOre models = more sales. Just sit back and watch!

6600 units? That's all? I thought Audi was doing better than that, that's 30% of BMW's sales for the month. The 3-series sales alone were almost double Audi's entire lineup and X5 sales were almost double the Q7, and that was without a giveaway lease on the 3-series (hello, A4) and no lease whatsoever on the X5.

I'm not ragging on Audi, either, I sincerely thought they were selling better than that. Saying their sales jumped 37.5% in February sounds nice on paper until you see how obviously low the starting sales were. It's a lot like when the new Lexus IS came out and everyone was talking about how sales went up 1000% -- when you're only selling 1000 a year and are suddenly selling 10000 that might be a huge percentage increase, but it's still less than a slow 3-series month for BMW.

I would hope so, you know why? I'll let you in on a secret -- I actually like Audi's. And certain Benz's, and even some Lexus's (or at least attributes of them). I prefer BMW's but I'm a car guy, I appreciate all of them. All I did was state the obvious, you Audi homers deboosting me for it is almost funny in it's ridiculousness. Did any non-Audi homer realize Audi only sold 6600 units in the U.S. in a month where Benz sold 18k and Lexus and BMW sold 22k? I was shocked to see the numbers that low, I thought they were a much more serious competitor.

No it didn't. The IS sold 3,800 or so units versus 3,00 or so A4s. The IS is also not 8,000 more in the base price. Stop make up nonsense.

Huu ... who cares what Canada's sales are? The Us market has much larger impact. In the US, Audi and lexus are less expensive than the BMW. Guess what Audi sells not even half of what the 3-series sells for in the US. BMW doesnt do rebates to incentivize their cars. They dont do special financing either. The do really good leases and that is because their RESALE value is very high and can back up the expectations. Audi CANT. They are not even close in regards to return value, so thus makes it harder for VW to put out competitive leases.

Audi is not tryint to outsell the Lexus they are worried about MB and BMW. Lexus can sell all the Toyotas they want.

The A4 is not 4% apr that was the used A4. And you can get new car rates at about 5.9% if you get away from the captive bank

what are you talking about? BMW isn't offering low finance rates on any new cars, their standard rate is 6.55% for A-tier credit. All they're offering is special rates on 2004 Certified models to keep them moving off dealer lots so they don't sit, which keeps resale high. They know what they're doing.

You're missing something.

Yes, wannabes drive them. I'll definitely acknowledge that.

BUT THEY STILL MAKE HIGH-QUALITY CARS.

Your opinion is so skewed, I probably shouldn't even reply.

But BMW interiors are underrated (except for the 5 Series, where the interior is very disappointing), and all the rest use some of the most expensive materials in the business. The 3 Series interior is attractive and very solidly-built, the 6 Series interior is probably the richest in the segment, the 7's is still up to par with most of the others in its class, and the X5 has a more expensive-feeling (and looking) interior than the ML, RX and Cayenne.

They're also somewhat reliable (although CR has said Audi is now more reliable, by quite a lot), especially the 3 Series.

iamevil ... what are you talking about? It is not hard to be up 37% when you only sell 6600 cars in the US> Especially when most of the 37% increase was for a model that wasnt even out last year. BMW's 15.2% is much more impressive considering they sold 22k cars in the US. We did have an X5 last year, a coupe & a conv.

Did anyone see the Consumer Reports results for 2006? Audi is the top Euro brand and 4th highest luxury brand overall. MB is 36th out of 36 brands surveyed, too bad so sad.

huu ... that is only in canada. In everyother country in the world BMW & Mercedes are more expensive than Lexus. Canada doesnt even count for 1% of luxury car segment in sales. Most of the people on this site are either from US or Europe. Stop bringing up the Canada pricing war of how expensive Lexus is. In Lexus's biggest market in the US, guess what they are Cheaper than BMW. Of course you are canadian , eh?

For the record - Lexus and BMW both offer incentives on their volume models. They advertise all the time (I can't stand seeing those Lexus December to Remember SALES event). European cars will be more expensive simply because of the exchange rate (I don't have the space for an economics lecture). Audi sells just as well BMW outside the US and outsells in some markets. I love both BMW and Audi. Audi just doesn't have the street credibility in the US. Stop with the childishness. While Americans love Japanese quality (and rightfully so) - if the Japanese, European, and American luxury vehicles all cost the same. Would Lexus, Infiniti, Cadillac still sell on the same level - I doubt it.
