This is great news. European taxi companies are getting new cars.

Here in Germany most taxi fleets and police units use the E-Class.

Here in OC most of the taxi companies use the Bentley Arnage.

LOL they use black crown vics that say yellow cab on them.

Lots of hybrid taxis in New York...

In Chicago, they use Crown Vics and Impalas, like they're supposed to.

And, we get a few London taxis with advertisements plastered on the sides.

Will, I did see Ford Escape hybrids will I was there (taxis), but didn't see the lone RX400h taxi. I didn't expect to. However, I also saw a LOT of Highlander hybrid taxis.

the Passat TDI would make a much better taxi in North America than the Prius ... lots more room, and longer lasting.
But the Highlander is nice, and Escape has lots of headroom.
E320 CDI is too pricey here ... but in Europe they offer it in lower trim ... its one of cheapest cars to own on a "per mile" basis, especially when you factor in the long life.

The new C class looks georgous, especially for what MB consider an "entry level car".

40,000 orders before the car is on the market is phenomenal...even if half of those are fleet sales. speaks volumes about what people think about the car that it's being bought sight unseen.

Agree its an impressive number - and should be good for competition - since BMW and Audi will have plenty of 3 series and A4s that they'll need to dump in the US market as their sales in Europe decline when the C class is introduced.

When I was in Frankfurt I saw a lot of C-Class Taxi's but fewer E-class. I guess it varies from town to town. The new C-Class looks really nice on the frond end. the Rear is controversial.

The interior is not even close to CLS, S Class, and CL. At least in the BMW 3 series you can see Metal or Wood Trim, The C class will need to refresh the interior

Adding aftermarket parts to a 325 or 328 does not mean they are posing as a 335. What kind of house coffee did you drink this morning? Even if they added the 335 sport wheels to the 328 it's not posing. I've seen dealerships have the 335i sport wheels on a 328. It's not uncommon to see stuff like that.

I've also seen a lot of Audi/VW rims swapped as well as other companies. A lot of car enthusiasts like to change things around to make their car look nicer. It's not called posing.

Now if the guy slapped on a 335 badge in replacement of the 328 or 325 then yes in that case it is called posing. Much like how some import tuners add a type R model to a car when no Type R model of that make ever came out.

I hate it when I see BMW 5 Serieses, mostly old 540i's with "M" packages, that say "540i M" on the back. I actually saw that once! I also saw one that said, "540i M5." It made me laugh.
