Report: Ford may announce Aston Martin sale this week
A report from Reuters says that Ford may announce the sale of Aston Martin for more than £450 million ($865 million) some time this week. The news of the sale of Aston Martin picked up a lot of attention in late January with a false rumor of Louis Vuitton looking to by the premium brand from Ford. Early last month it was reported that private equity firm Doughty Hanson and Simon Halabi submitted second-round offers for Aston Martin in an auction being run by investment bank UBS AG.

We’ll see what happens this week. Aston Martin sales increased by around half last year to about 6,500 cars.

A company that has money to put into this company will be a great investor and it will reflect from it's sales numbers to come. I think that the Aston Martin line up has been a lot more successful and with a company that is not in trouble financially it will benefit A.M greatly.

I would love to see either more luxury or more sport luxury from this brand in the years to come. IMO they have a lot of confusion. They can't decide which to be, whether a super car brand or a luxury GT brand. They are obviously trying to have a mixture of both, which I wouldn't mind as well. If you've heard their engines, my god, it's a beautiful sound.

Another thing is I would like to see Aston Martin leap ahead from the V8 Vantage/XK8 comparison as the performance between the two are too similar.

I would love to see an Aston Martin V8 Vantage-S with 450 hp. Aston Martin to add more hp to all of their line up. I love the Aston Martin Vantage V8, it has been says, you can hear the roaring of the V8 Vantage miles away. yes, I agree with you that Aston Martin need to add more hp so it can compete with XK8 head on.

They actually don't need it. The AMV8 is already quicker than the DB9. It's surprising, but it's true. It would dampen the dynamics if it had more power.

The DB9 has the suspension to take on 500hp, though, thus the DBS is coming out.

I don't want the whole brand, but I'll take one or two!

It's amazing that they're selling so well. They're selling almost as well as Bentleys, and yet have more mystique. I see much less around here than I would normally see Conti GTs.

S4, I know! where I live, I see many Gallardo, Bentely, RR, Maybach, Ferrari, and Porshce. But I have only seen two Aston Martin, a DB9 and the V8 Vantage. Man I would love buy the V8 Vantage when I have the money to.
