First Bugatti Veyron crash

We’ve seen plenty of smashed Ferrari Enzos but this is the first time we’ve across images of a wrecked Bugatti Veyron. Information is sketchy, but it’s thought that a pool of water on the road caused the AWD supercar to lose traction and then spin out of control, sending it head first into a ditch on a road near Shepperton in the UK. Most of the cabin section and engine compartment look relatively undamaged, however, it’s hard to determine what internal damage to the drivetrain there is if any. Hopefully the driver got out unscathed.

According to the source, this is the first time a private customer has actually crashed a Veyron. Engineers reportedly destroyed two prototype examples during testing, which was part of the reason for the long delays during the vehicle’s development.

I would say it's pretty hard to control your foot in a 1,000hp car.

It's already hard in mine- imagine a car with almost three times the power!

Lovely car (was!) but allegedly he was doing 100mph in a 40...in the rain...tosser doesn't deserve to be driving such a car.

Hope the guy's OK...though if he could afford to buy one Veyron, he can afford to buy another one; I guess he goes to the back of the line.

BTW Has anybody checked out the Veyron 'configurator' on the Bugatti web site? You can spec out your Veyron just like it was a Honda Accord..although the site does not have a 'schedule a test drive' button.

Yes, that is an excellent web site. And I am sure the driver is fine as it doesn't look likea very serious accident.

Does it display the price? Because you can build Maseratis, Aston Martins and even Bentleys- but on none of the exotic sites does it show the pricetag.

No, you can only take a look at ouside colors/interior colors. But still totally worth a click. The entire Bugatti site is pretty cool and look great.

You can pick like 800 different color combinations for your Veyron, (not really, but there's a lot of color combinations).
