I've always thought the 1994–2001 Acura Integra totally ripped off Alfa Romeo with the headlights and the Lexus GS was a simple copy of the Ford ZX2.

Looks good, but I hope they get the reliability right this time. A friend of mine loved his new SL, but couldn't take the poor reliability and sold it. He now drives around his Smart car (imported and federalized for $30K) as his main transportation.

This could be the next CLK, but the SL is a sexier car and MB has sense enough to keep it from looking staid.

What the sudden with all the new MB model copying the Lexus GS headlight? ha..ha..ha..

no way is this thing the new SL. This chop is nothing more than the new C class merged onto an existing SL body. Expect the new SL to be sleeker and more futuristic looking. MB never makes mistakes with the SL look.

Copying GS in what way? the 4 light front end? Mercedes came up with the 4 light design before Lexus was ever created so you should watch what you say. That's why you have -2 deboost.

Anyways this design can't be the next SL. It looks hideous and will never hit the market. I think it will share some traits from the new C-class/CL class.

This photoshop DOES share traits with the C. That's why it WON'T look like the C, because this DOESN'T look like an SL.

The SL has its own style. It has never looked like other cars in the MB lineup.

Oh I mean that MB will change the typical MB look to another. I just hope they are smart with the SL as i think the current SL is one of the most beautiful designs ever. It's just a perfect flowing design and it works really well for this model. This current SL and the previous generation S-Class in my books will go down as one of the most attractive S-classes ever,hands down..

Always amazes me how people immediately start with "Oh my, Mercedes is copying...". Pathetic. No, seriously. Pathetic.

I am *hoping* this is a PhotoChop. After seeing what MB did to the soon-to-arive C class (very decade-old Lexus-like face), I am hoping the SL is not more of the same.

Thank goodness Bentley still make beautiful cars. The choices are narrowing for folks who don't care for Asian styling cues.
