Russo-Balt Impression Is Strong At Geneva Motor Show Debut

Russo-Balt was founded back in the early 1900's and was the first Russian automaker. Resurrected last year by German and Russian investors, the new company currently manufactures trailers.
The concept, the Impression, will be the company's first major foray into the car industry and the extreme luxury market at that. German Gerg GmbH, who will manufacture the production version, aims to sell 2 to 3 a year at a cost of 1,500,000 euros ($1,966,500) each.
Our take? We have to admire Russian drive. But the Impression better leave a good impression (pardon the word play) on press and public alike when it debuts in Geneva to charge such prices. It took years for exotic car heavy-weights Lamborghini to be able to charge such extreme prices. Even relative newcomer Bugatti is struggling to sell its stock. Are there enough multi-millionaires (billionaires) who can afford such newbies?
