Fiat CEO: Alfa Romeo coming to US in 2008
Alfa Romeo has teased the American market for some time now just hinting that they will be showing up here on our highways anytime now. Most of us have been waiting eagerly, but now we have official word from Alfa Romeo’s boss, Sergio Marchionne, CEO of Alfa’s parent company, Fiat. Concerning Alfar Romeo’s debut in the United States, Marchionne said ”It’s coming.”

Automotive News reports Marchionne saying that Alfa will debut in the United States in late 2008, with a vehicle that hasn’t been shown yet. Can we please have the Alfa Romeo Competizione 8C and Alfa 8C Spider?

Careful not to step in the bullshit these "lextopo" nazis keep spewing over all the forums. Seriously i want to punch every lexus driver i see in hopes he's one of you. Alfa romeo coming to the U.S. has no bering on Lexus so unless you're gonna talk about the topic get out of this fourm. That said i am looking forward to this, this is just the news i was hoping to hear.

When I lived in Germany I saw a lot of Alfa's I always thought they made beautiful cars. It would be interesting to see how they will be accepted in the US

Alfa's used to be sold in the US at one point before being laughed off the market due to poor quality.

I used to own one of the earliest Alfa 164's (1989 model in the US). Let's just say that while the electrics were a nightmare, the car was still incredibly fun to drive and nothing in our market back then could touch it for style. It was a joy to drive and despite the poor electrical reliability, I truly miss that car. I eventually got rid of it because its mechanical reliability started getting worse around 1993/1994. This sounds odd, but this was a great car despite the poor reliability.

I now drive a C230 V6 but I would be willing to try the Alfa experience one more time especially since I hear their quality has improved.

The guy who designed this car is the new head of Audi design.

I'm quite excited to see the fruits of his labor.

Maybe the B8 A4 will be his first design?

Nah... probably too far in the production cycle already.
