China's Brillance Automaker Eyeing Europe, U.S.
Brillance Jinbei Automobile *** a Chinese-based automobile manufacturer, has started exporting cars to Europe and are in talks to establish a U.S. sales network. According to Reuters, if the company is able to make the agreements, it could become the first Chinese automaker to sell its own brand in the U.S. market. Attempts by other Chinese manufacturers have been interrupted by delays from financing to problems meeting tough American standards.

The first model assigned to crack the European market is a sedan called the BS6. It will have a sticker price between 19,000 and 23,000 euros. (The latter translates to about $30,213.) The models will include a coupe, sedan, a compact, and a SUV. The company hopes to be offering five models in Europe by 2010.
