The ultimate Lexus for sale?
THE ultimate four-wheel head-turner, the futuristic Lexus that Tom Cruise drove in the 2002 sci-fi crime thriller Minority Report is expected to go to auction this month.

Director Steven Spielberg approached the Japanese luxury brand to see if its engineers wanted to have a go at creating a vehicle for the year 2054.

They turned out three: the red one shown here, which Cruise was seen in, as well as a black one and a silver one. The black one, which was used for background scenes and not given a full interior fit-out, is up for auction on eBay until March 24.

Probably cause the other companies were charging too much to create a car that plus it's a good marketing idea to build a car for a movie. Since Lexus is a originally a US designated brand, why not chose Lexus. It will increase brand recognition.

I remember not being able to tell which end was the front and which end was the back. Once I figured that out, I liked it. ;)

It may not look too cool in today's world, but in 2054 it just may be the best looking car out there. I imagine it will be hydrogen fueled by then.

You guys do realize that is was a concept for a movie about the future right?

It wasn't supposed to look "normal".

How about Audi's R8 concept in I.Robot? That was both futuristic and pleasant. Not this horse shoe of a thing.

I'm not an expert, but I do know that the guy that designed this, Harald Belker, is not a Lexus employee but rather a professional concept artist working in the movie business.

I also know that if the "pre-crime" concept presented in the movie were real, you would be prevented from posting almost all of your criminally stupid posts.

Maybe so, but Minority Report is a better movie.

Alright, I have one huge question, The Toyota Camry isnt the greatest looking car, but look at the Camry equivalent for Australia, The Toyota Aurion, 335 hp for the SE verison.

Looks like a dumb car telephone you would get with your subscription to Lexus magazine.

lol

The Toyota Aurion reminds me of the Lexus LS. Clearly shows that Lexus is not exactly coming up with unique looks to distinguish it from it's Toyota branch. But hey since Lexus is most popular in the US the American's won't know anyway. It's all about the marketing and the badge their marketing.

The Toyota Aurion I believe is the Chinese Camry (Australia's Aurion). I like the styling of this more than the ES for Lexus. If you look at the interior photos it is probably just as luxurious as the ES. With the price difference the Camry would probably be a better value for money.

They should have titled this article, "Finally, a Lexus for men!" Ha ha ha. Only women and old men drive Lexus's. On the rare occasion I see a young man driving a RX330 (95% female drivers), I have to laugh.

Gas-guzzling? That's seriously funny, bulldogz. EPA estimates are nearly identical (21 city/28 hwy for IS350 and 19 city/28 hwy for 335i). And, I'm not sure where you get your info, but the IS is 5.6 secs 0-60 vs. 4.8 for the 335i (so you underestimated your figure by 400%), which means the bimmer is more efficient than the girly IS350. 19/28 is pretty damn impressive for car those kind of numbers. By the way, you could give the Lex 500 horsepower and it still wouldn't be half as engaging and inspiring to drive as the 335i. Hmmm...guess that's why I see 5 or 6 new 3-series to every 1 of the 3-series killer (ROFLMAO), IS350. I bet your wife would slap you silly if you drove her bimmer, too. :P
