Talking BMW to debut at CeBit

The EU project TALK focuses on the development of new technologies for adaptive multimodal and multilingual human-computer dialogue systems. In English that means, no matter what language you speak, you’ll be able to communicate with your car in many ways. Which also means you can focus on the road rather than that crazy iDrive system.

Talk is a project developed by Saarland University, that has partnered with BMW to develop a car that can understand many different languages and respond to commands you make at it.

The Talk BMW will be shown at the CeBit show starting March 15th, where the group will display things such as selecting songs from the library or asking your car where the next pizza place is.

I'd like to have a car that parks itself, says hello to me in the morning and tells me how good I look, cooks me breakfast, washes the dishes, picks up the tab for my Starbucks, does my work for me and tucks me in at night.

I'd like it to be $5,000, and I'd like it to come out tomorrow.
