Is this the secret of why the BMW 3-Series convertible is so hard to beat?

Is this the secret of why the BMW 3-Series convertible is so hard to beat?
Here is the full product presentation complete with BMW's philosophy of designing a convertible.

The most interesting comment about the design came from the man responsible for the 3-Series coupe and convertible, when he said BMW convertible designs always show the head AND the shoulders of the passengers, because that's how all famous people are photographed or painted.

Interesting...

How would that make the 3 harder to beat?

It's best-in-class, yes, but your theory doesn't make any sense.

Our point is that...Could the lower shoulderline of the car be the secret of why people like it so much and why it sells better than the competition?

That remote control roof is actually a nice feature. If it starts raining, you don't have to run out to the car to put the roof up, you can stay inside.

I'm pretty sure the CLK has that, too. My car doesn't, though.

That would be a useful feature if I got an M3.

It loooks very sleek and stylish. I like it. When AC Schnitzer gets their hands on this it will be a beast. Can't forget Hamann as well.

I think this guy is an undercover "agent000" or someone who's here for (1.)keeping the forum alive with those stupid comments or (2.) to try get Lexus a good reputation with the enthusiast drivers (since only those are looking on forums, car forums anyway).

Because option 2. doesn't really get accomplished I would bet my Audi that the guy is falling straight to 1. Every time I read a post here I only get pissed off. Did anybody try reading other forums? Just try it and you'll see how relaxing and useful really is - on other websites people are actually helping each other, writing constructive opinions, not just stupid kids like this "lexus" guy. Uuuu my car is better than yours! Because I saw it first, ye ye ye ye !

Someone just ban the guy! Or do you feel you'll loose too much by removing him?

you act like a child that just got a new toy and thinks no one has a better one....your statements are childish, imature and innacurate..." Lexus is the best ´cause I said so..." Base your statements on facts! Or better..... go play....

Why would you say the IS350 is faster by far? I do agree the the Lexus will likely
be more reliable based on history, but they are talking about a convertible here
which Lexus doesn't produce yet in the IS model yet.

They come out of 001's Lexus fan garden. He pulls up new Lexus fans one a month, apparently. Sometimes even more frequently.

Just to tick us off.

If you really want a newsflash, check the 0-60 times of the IS350 and 335i again...

Will, there's a HUGE DIFFERENCE between what Lexus and BMW say, and what you can actually achieve.

Lexus usually says their cars are actually quicker than they are. Not significantly, but usually, their cars are from 0.1-0.5 slower than they say. They said the RX330 AWD did 0-60 in 7.7 when it came out... I was surprised to see most magazines getting it in the mid-8s.

On the other hand, BMW (like Audi) understates their times. At least from my observations. They say something like 5.5 or 5.4 for the 335i coupe, but it's gotten 4.9 or maybe even 4.8 on an Edmunds test.

I remember when this forum used to be productive with constructive comments, now it is like sifting through piles of dribble dressed up as 'comments' written by lunatics. Very sad...
