You've seen the exterior of the 2009 E-Class but what will the interior be like? Exclusive info..
Dear 001,

I think you guys have the best auto website in the world.

I had a chance to see the inside of 2009 E-Class although I was not allowed to photograph it.

I think your readers will apppreciate this insight...

The headlamps have a sharp edge design, looks like some of the drawings. The lamps will not be round/oval any more.

The interior is without gearstick, as the S, R and ML class, so I guess it only will be delivered with automatic transmission.

There is a small wheel (control knob) like the S-class, (and BMW 5-series) for using the navi and other adjustment in the menu.

There is a new Distronic display and night view assist.

Some of it was covered inside also, so it is hard to say, but the dash design looks a bit like the S-class.

Interior quality/switchgear is more expensive looking than the current generation car.

The new E-Class will be presented in Frankfurt 2009, and will be on the marked as a year 2010 model.

Best regards to all the Spy fans,

Mercedes Mole

It's one guy's description based off of what he's seen on a prototype.

"I had a chance to see the inside of 2009 E-Class although I was not allowed to photograph it."

EL34 the new E-class will obviously be hightech, and will compete heavily for top rank in its class, but class leading today is a 5 series attribute, and it's my opinion that despite the fierce fight these to will give among others, the 5 series will remain king

Key words there: "...it's my opinion..."

I like the 5 Series and love BMW, but it's MY OPNION that the 5 Series isn't the class-leader. The E shows a better balance between luxury and performance, catering its customers to a far better interior than the E60, but still maintaining its RWD performance attributes and sporty handling. It's also quite classy on the outside- I think it looks the most expensive in this class... therefore, it is.

It can't be automatic only, what would the taxi drivers do? they don't want an auto...

My comment is dumb or Mercedes' apparent decision is dumb?

We still can't prove he actually saw the E-class. Everything he said is obvious , like the COMAND system and the auto-transmission. Everything is just evolution, there is no detail that would make me think it was real.
it would have been better if he had snuck a photo in, then that'd be real proof.
