New York Auto Show: Ford Flex Crossover to be unveiled in NY
On April 4th, at the New York Auto Show, Ford will take the wraps off its new Ford Flex crossover, a production version of the Ford Fairlane concept (pictured above) that debuted at the Detroit Auto Show in 2005. Ford is hoping that the Ford Flex will give it more boost in the crossover market with its Ford Edge already performing up to par. The Ford Flex has three rows of seating and suicide side doors that open in opposite directions (much like the picture above).

This is said to be Ford’s biggest announcement for the New York Auto Show, sources close the company said, with dealers already expecting high-demand. “Ford promises big news at the auto show, but we’re keeping our cards close to our vest,” said Ford’s spokesman Jim Cain.

How many crossovers is this? Escape, Edge, Freestyle (TaurusX), Flex. Plus the assorted rebadges from Mazda, Mercury and Lincoln. Plus the SUVs and their rebadged clones. Does Ford still build cars?

It looks better than the ugly Scion boxcars. Of course has cars. Fusion, Mustang, Taurus/500, Focus, and Crown Vic. Ford considers the Escape a SUV.

That's a concept. It will look nothing like this Fairlane concept shown.

ANOTHER? What's the point? We already have the Edge and the Freestyle-- what could possibly fit between?

I remember hearing it may replace the Freestyle. I think that would be a good move by Ford.

I agree, if that's true.

It's hardly a crossover. It's basically a new design for a mini-van. I think it is a little bigger than the Freestyle/Taurus X.

Well you are right Westside 7th. Ford has about 3 crossovers then with the new Fairlane. It will be replacing the Freestar minivan.
List of Ford Models:
Cars: Fusion, Mustang, Crown Vic Focus Taurus.
SUVS: Explorer, Expedition, Escape.
Trucks: Ranger,F-series,Explorer Sport track.
CUVS: Edge, Taurus X, Fairlane.
I think if they keep updating all their models regularly, uses quality materials, good looking designs, and a decent mileage they can get out of this loss.

I love this site but I'm sick as hell of hearing Lexus brought up in everything... Damn, they are nice cars but I'm with LEXAR when he said "SHUT THE F@#K UP ABOUT LEXUS!" GEESH... Lexus should start making a dildo so some of these dudes could shove it.
