The Best Value Option For a Prius? A Car Pool Sticker!

Californians appear willing to pay $4,000 more for used gasoline-electric hybrid vehicles that have state-issued carpool stickers than for hybrids that don't, according to a sampling of prices by Kelley Blue Book for USA TODAY.

The stickers allow low-polluting hybrids to use less-crowded, faster-moving carpool lanes, even if the driver is alone in the car.

The state quit issuing stickers to hybrids last month after hitting a self-imposed cap of 85,000. Those already issued are valid through 2011 and stay with the car when it's sold, benefiting subsequent owners.

FYI - gas is 3.50 + a gallon here for 91 octane. Hybrids, make a lot of sense here in Califronia, especially in the mtro areas. Toyota has a lot of respect here n the sunshine state. Mainly as people respect it for trying to change the paradigm of locomotion through primaryly internal combustion engines.

May I ask how much is 95 octane? 91 octane isn't sold in Britain and I wondered if the price difference is so much.

Why don't u get a Ford Escape Hybrid then? The new one is great n it can carry more cargo n ppl. It looks 100 times better also

Why not get a Highlander Hybrid it looks better than the Ford Escape and also has more power!!
Plus the Escape uses the old Toyota hybrid system and the Highlander has Hybrid Synergy Drive,which is the 2nd Generation hybrid system..

It uses a similar one to the prius but made major changes to it n made it better
