NEW YORK AUTO SHOW: 2008 Subaru WRX gets hotter!

I've never understood what the big deal over the WRX was. My brother's father in-law has one and it's nothing special. It's just got a fair amount of power for a cheaper price than the competitors.

I would say the big deal is with the WRX STI, not the WRX really. But I guess since the WRX is the platform of the STI its the reason it gets so much attention.

Not impressed really, as long as they DONT bring out an STI version of this im happy. I have kinda grown to love the one that was released last year, at first I was appauled, so maybe this one will grow on me too.

Not very good looking. But then again, most old Imprezas were quite ugly (especially the circle headlight ones)

It looks HORRIBLE.

The current one looks better. Plus it looks like a Mazda 3. Urrgh...

looks good, except i'm not sure about the front grille - there seems to be excess chrome, however that could just be the photo. I also think it looks like a Mazda 3 too. Back lights are horrible as well.

The whole car is horrible!

Interior is ugly and dated, front is fussy and dated, rear end is horrible and dated!

What a styling disaster, honestly, what a big styling mess.

I used to like the current generation alot..... this 1 is the ugliest new car I have ever seen... maybe the designer was blind? UGLY PIECE OF CRAP. Im waiting for ronscoobby to post here, I wanna see what he says!

Who's designing these pieces of S...Couldn't they hire a better designer.Subaru...HIRE ME!!! I don't have any experience in design but I'm sure I'll design a far better car.

I cant believe 001 actually posted this thing. I would expect something like this from 009. Those pictures aren't real.

The car has styling queues from a KIA,a Toyota and a little bit of a Mazda. It especially looks just like a Toyota from the front and the side profile looks exactly like a KIA! They had a chance to do a clean sheet redesign and this was the best they could do?What were they thinking?

I also just noticed that the headlights look a lot like the Chrysler Sebring. UGHHhhh!!!

I'm not a fan of this type of "road rally" class of car but regardless of whether you like or dislike this photo, the Evo X is much better looking. And what use to be close debate between the two has certainly changed dramatically if this truely is the new WRX.

this looks like last gen camry sport that mated w/ a corrolla sport and out came this subie...lol...my first car was an 83' subie gl wagon. a few years ago i got a 02 wrk wagon and totally feel in love. one year later some a-hole in a lifted truck rammed into the the center concrete divider. after that no more subie. i had pondered to get an 04-05 as i still feel some loyalty toward subies though 06-07 are horrendous looking and this only is worse.

If by hotter you mean more boring. then yes! the front is super boring and the back looks like the B9...which isn't a compliment.

A hatchback WRX? Did they ever have that? It looks as horrible as anyother WRX before it. But atleast it looks better then the current "beetle bug".

The Mitsu Evo is beginning to look better and better now

and btw, if you haven't caught on yet, you don't buy a wrx for its looks....

This is horrible.. I'm ashamed of Subaru in a BIG way!
