Infiniti beats BMW X6 introduction with aggressive new EX Concept
A near-production vehicle which is the likely successor to Infiniti's FX crossover (no word yet if the FX name will survive), the EX Concept looks like a cross between the FX and its new G sedan. The vehicle has an aggressively sloping roofline, what the automaker says is a luxurious interior, and a liquid crystal glass roof that can morph from transparent to translucent.

Looks OK, but I think Infiniti EX sounds like a step down from Infiniti FX. I think something more like the Infiniti ZX would have worked better.

I acutally like this thing, it looks better than the current FX. I wasnt a big fan of the front facia either but I'm starting to like it.

And for all of those mentioning Mazda, the only reason why this reminds you of the CX-7 it's because Mazda copied the current FX; be smart people.

I don't think it's an FX replacement at all. From what I've read, it's going to slot under the FX as a more compact luxury sport-ute (i.e. X3, RDX).

I think it looks gorgeous, with much better lines than either the RDX or X3. If it comes with a V6 and reasonable gas mileage, I'd seriously consider it.

Why wouldn't they think the G35 face helps sell cars. It is currently selling better then the IS and TL. It is actually working into 3 series sales. Its a great looking car at a great price.

I wish they could make the translucent roof an option on cars cheaper than the Maybach.

Please correct the title, this is an X3 killer not a X6. This car is smaller than the current FX, from looking at it and also from its name. Infiniti uses letters orders to tell who's bigger than who. e.g. the letter E comes before F, so E is smaller than F, in turn EX is smaller than FX. And the same goes for all of Infiniti's line up.

I hope it is not similar to the FX. FX is a horrible SUV, it's very uncomfortable and rough. The design is not that great at all. It is definitely not a luxury SUV, however the 45 is very swift.

But, people still buy them, I have no idea why. The EX design looks a lot better than the FX. Hopefully it offers better comfort and handling.

EX is positioned below FX - that makes it a X3 competitor - or even better a competitor of an upcoming X4 (based on new X3 platform).

X6 is based on the E70 X5 platform & is longer, wider yet lower then X5. And of course more expensive than X5.

EX & X6 won't compete in the same segment.

But when EX will be ripe for a facelfit few years from now, X4 (X3-based Sport Activity Coupe) will be introduced - and the a real comparison will be possible.
