Spy Shot: Audi R8 V10 Caught InTesting On The Nurburgring?

Check out this R8 posted by forum user Nightranger in another thread. It was his contention that this car is a V10 version of Audi's supercar in testing at the Nurburghring. Though there's nothing conclusive that proves that claim, this is certainly an odd duck.

The HH on the license plates and preproduction status of the R8 suggest this is a car owned by quattro GmbH. Note also some details pointed out by Nightranger. The side blade intake is rounded out for greater airflow to the motor. Also, a new sideskirt design on this particular R8 is similar in design to the skirts on the S5.

So what do you think? V10?

I think the LED's on the bottom lip are soo nice...but think that the aftermarket manufacturers will start to bring headlights that copies audi's new styling, just how the Angel Eyes of BMW were, and how the IS300 Lights . This car is pure beauty...

The R8 I saw two days ago had only its LEDs on in front, and I can tell you now, without them, it would be a different car. Blew my mind.

It won't EVER be called the RS8.

EVER.

If there ever will be an RS8, it will be based on the A8. No questions asked.

Their sports car will be R8. The more powerful version could be called R8 V10, or even R8 S. But NOT RS8.

ATTENTION!

I saw an R8! ON THE ROAD! With no camo! Yesterday!

It blew me away... simply beautiful. It was on the road in broad daylight in the depths of Los Angeles. However, the coolest part was that the main headlights weren't on, it was just the LEDs. After seeing S6s and now the R8, LEDs are becoming Audi's trademark. They should incorporate them on every model, as an aswer to BMW's "angel eyes."

As if that wasn't enough, I saw an A5 or S5 coupe, with some back tape on it. Also yesterday. It was going pretty quickly, but I could easily tell what it was. The wheels were spray-painted black, at least, but I don't know about the rest of the body. What a stunner!

But after seeing the R8, the A5 blended in with the rest, as it should.
