2008 Land Rover LR3 gets Range Rover style interior enhancements

At the Geneva Motor Show Land Rover announced freshened interiors for 2008 Range Rover Sport and Discovery 3 (LR3), but they haven’t released any official photos yet. Well, someone over at Land Rover enthusiast website Disco3.co.uk just emailed us with details on these new interior packages for Discovery 3 (LR3). According to Disco3.co.uk, there will be a Brunel Metallic trim option with Ebony center panel, a separate wood option package and a piano black trim option similar to that found in the Range Rover. 2008 model production is said to start April 30th and dealers are taking orders now - MORE PHOTOS.....

I am waiting to see what sort of Blinged up Rubbish Ford will give us as the New Range Rover.

After seeing the new Navigator, im sure it will be a Sight to Behold

The reason that the 2003-present RR model is hot is because it was designed by BMW. I am not holding my breath for the next model. Ford and GM are experts at "Brand engineering"... do a wikipedia search on it. I was surprised see the list of brand engineered cars. I knew that the Escalade was a jazzed up Chevy Suburban/GMC Yukon but I did not know that the new Navigator was a jazzed up Expedition.

Looks good but I fear that the line between LR3 and RR are being blurred. They already have the same Jaguar 300HP engine, air suspension, and now they are sharing the same lux interior... As an owner of an '05 RR I wonder what Ford is planning for the next RR.

Don't worry. The Range Rover will always have the edge. It is the ultimate truck, reliability problems regardless.

And honestly, the interior shown above still doesn't look even half as sexy as the RR's. With that piping, the wood options, and the fantastic center-stack design, you've got nothing to lose.

Am I missing something? Are there now going to be TWO LR3s?

They mention "Discovery 3 (LR3)," but in the US, it's called the LR2, and LR3 is a different vehicle.

I'm very confused.

Land Rover is changing its naming conventions. The LR2 is the new model Freelander while the LR3 is the new Discovery

Oh, whoops.

I got the LR2 and LR3 confused (I thought the LR3 was the Freelander replacement, because it had a higher number, which in my mind means it's the youngest or "baby"), and so it was quite odd for me to think that Land Rover was already enhancing the just-released "LR3's" interior.

I now realize it's the LR2 I was thinking of.

My, my. They need a new naming system. Discovery, Freelander and Range Rover were good enough!
