Dueling Legends: 2004 Ferrari Enzo vs 1984 Audi Sport Quattro

Dueling Legends: 2004 Ferrari Enzo vs 1984 Audi Sport Quattro
How does a current supercar stand up to a 20 year old legend? Auto Bild wondered the exact same thing. So they searched high and wide for perhaps one of the oddest comparisons you may ever encounter.

A V12 Ferrari Enzo vs a Turbo 5 Audi Sport Quattro. While the outcome might to be fairly easy to predict, the performance show surprisingly how close the two are to each other.

Considering 20 years of technology separates the two, it proves performance icons back then, can still hold there own against a new crop of contenders.

Perhaps not. But with both marques having such a legendary racing heritage, I can see why the comparison was made.

Check out the specs loser. The 23 year old Audi Sport Quattro can easily hang with the Enzo. A vehicle that is many times more expensive. Actually, there is no current or future BMW that is even close in performance to the 23 year old Audi Sport Quattro. How do you like your ownage served?

Interesting but pointless.

This reminds me of when tiff, and her majesty raced an evo vs the quatro sport. I think the evo took it.

Ahhh, I remember an old GT Coupe in British Racing Green. Oh how I loved that car. Quick and a blast to drive.

I take it most of you don't know what a Sport quattro is huh.
It was the most expensive an fastest german car of it's time.

It's only 2 seconds slower from 0-200 than the Enzo!

Pointless.
Cars/companies Not in the same league nor their heritage.

I even believe Porsche is also not in the same league as FERRARI.

Audi has been racing longer then Ferrari. Their heritage may not be as impressive, but ther's certainly allot of it.

Audis racing legends make Audi special! And I can't understand why some trolls can't give audi credit where it is and that's in racing.

wow...... thats impressive.... I kind off laugh at the picture above.... because the audi looks VERY old, but the performance is impressive.

I hope no one comes now and says the SC can out handle both of them.....

With all due respect to Ferrari and it's racing heritage, Audi has always raced to win. It's heritage goes back over 100 yrs. Whether you look at endurance racing and hill climb events from the early 1900s, Grand Prix in the 1930's, World Rally, Touring Car, Pikes Peak hillclimb and IMSA in the 1980's, ALMS sedans in the 1990's to early 2000's, or LeMans Sports Prototypes of today, Audi has totally dominated the sport in every single catagory against stiff competition from around the world. Always trying out new technology and pushing the envelope. Most of that technology by the way, usually ends up in it's production cars that people can actually buy.

Very well said! Everything Audi competes in they're not just successful, but dominate the competition. Some other car companies that are just there to be there! Never follow!!

Come on!..........this is getting really stupid, you cannot compare the an Audi to the Ferrari. An Audi is an Audi and a Ferrari is a Ferrari. Even thought Audi did a really good job on their engineering.

I don't care what of car or how fast Audi make it car, it still an Audi. Ferrari! well we all know what it is, not need anymore explanation.

When you think of an Audi it just an Audi but when you think of Ferrari, exotic, prestige, supercar, sex on wheel, fast, money $$$$$$$ come to mind.

What a badge whore.

This isn't about the badge, it's about the performance.

But to be fair with the Audi brand, you did one heck of a job with that Audi. Even thought it 20 years old, it still can hang with the like of the Ferrari Enzo. Audi definitely did a really impressive job here with their engineering.

Imagine if BMW can make something similar to this, they would probably have a better chance of standing number #1 as premium brand.

By the way the Audi R8 is faster than anything BMW has made or ever made.

I don't see anything knocking BMW off the #1 spot in the near future.

Audi and Mercedes are neck-and-neck (it's hard to tell who's #2 at the moment), but BMW, annually, has a bout a 300,000 car lead.
