Report: Nissan Skyline beats sales predictions in Japan

The Nissan Skyline in Japan, the Nissan version of the Infiniti G35 sedan, has been beating sales predictions and surprising the executives. When launched in November of 2006, the Nissan Skyline was targeted to sell 1,000 vehicles per month. However, since its launch the Skyline has sold more than 11,000 units.

And that’s not the only achievement of the reliable Infiniti G35 spin-off. Recently, Nissan assembled a team of product development experts that managed to cover an impressive distance of 1,024.4 kilometers (621 miles) on one tank of fuel.

The Nissan Skyline is powered by 2.5 liter VQ25HR V6 engine that produces 225 horsepower. We doubt it will ever come to the U.S. since it will probably affect sales of the Nissan Altima.

This is one big problem I see with the G35. It is a great car no doubt, but not everyone wants over 300 HP especially with the unstable price of gasoline. The 3 series with the G35 is trying to dethrone, offers 3 different engines for different consumers. If Infiniti would bring the 2.5 over to the US, they might double their sales. A great handling car with decent acceleration can be just as much fun as a 300 hp tire burner. I really think they are missing out.

Do you have access to any knowledge at all?
-Judging by your name you have a very narrowed perception on the automotive world.
I feel like this is a recurring theme that happens with all your posts that just swell with your all-found-wisdom. It is borderline embarrasing if you are actually serious. There are people that actually contribute usable knowledge, not just empy banter.

So I digress...

The BMW US market for 2008 offers only TWO gas engines choices:

The 3.0L I-6 offered in the 328i series of cars produces 230HP.
--20/29mpg w/ manual transmission

The 3.0L Biturbo HPDi engine offered in the 335i series produces 300HP
--19/29mpg w/ manual transmission

The European market gets THREE other different gas engines

The 320i with a 2.0L I-4 returns 32mpg
The 325i with a 2.5L I-6 returns 33mpg on average.
The 330i with a 3.0L I-6 returns 32mpg on average.

WOW! I think I see the mpg returns going higher and higher too. WHO KNEW!

Lets not forget the gamut of diesel engine choices that BMW offers for the 3 series. 60% of all cars sold in Europe are diesels.

So, please PLEASE step up and quit diappointing us for having to read your useless comments.

Did you remember to convert from European to American gallons? The 320 number is right, but the 325 and 330 seem way too good. In american gallons the 325 gets 27 and the 330 gets 26. The 320d gets 40 US Mpg and does 0-60 in 8 seconds, it's a good engine.
