2008 Subaru Impreza WRX Sedan -What about this one?

2008 Subaru Impreza WRX Sedan -What about this one?
Well, that didn’t take long did it? Thanks to the all-mighty net, we discovered the first to be seen images of the 2008 Impreza WRX Sedan. Well, we also have a bunch of new pics featuring the 5door hatch but since we’ve already spilled our guts on it, we’ll concentrate on Subbie fans last hope, the sedan version. Our opinion? Less ugly but just as dull as the hatch. However, since there’re no rear-end images we’d better wait till we see the whole picture for our final conclusions cause you never know what these blokes might have in surprise for us… No word on technical specs yet, but from what we've heard the 2008 Impreza WRX will wear a slightly updated version of the current 224Hp 2.5-liter turbocharged Boxer.

Again, ugly grille. Otherwise, it looks fine.

Interior is a lot better. Mitsubishi and Subaru are apparently getting the message that they need better interiors, even on their stripped out rockets. The exterior is horrible. Subaru just cant get their grills right. Don't know about the back on the sedan but the hatchback is fugly.

Fuji Heavy Industries sure does their powertrain homework though...

They're strong as nails in the powertrain department but what's with the new hatchback and these nasty grills.

Grill and headlights look like Chrysler Sebring

that grill looks like it came off an old Mazda Protege.

That one picture is the ONLY picture that looks alright.

Otherwise, this car is a huge letdown

Looks good to me, what’s wrong with it? Look at the bonnet scoope. It's going to be a monster.
After all Subaru is not known for it's looks but Performance (Legendary Symmetrical AWD,great handling/ride with that thrilling sound which it's boxer engines generate)

I like it.

Exterior: D+

Improvement over last-gen, but that's hardly saying much. In fact, I liked the rear end of the last version better- the new rear lights are ugly and overdone. The front is... pinched. Subaru needs to hire some new guys.

Interior: B+

Huge, overdue improvement here! Much better design, and it looks more substantial on the inside. However, the navigation system shown looks very after-market... and Subaru probably didn't develop it themselves. Why not use Toyota nav systems? Good touch-screens.

Overall grade: C

I'll take the Lancer.

ugh, this is horrible! I'm so utterly dissapointed! Looks like a Corolla S more than anything else!

YUCK! SHAME ON YOU SUBARU!

I hope they will change the model in 2009, to compete with the new lancer. This one is maybe better than a cobalt ss though.

With all the knocks against the Corolla it's such a surprise to see so many brands using its design for inspiration. Very reminiscent of the same situation the 5-Series went through...

Somehow I see a bit of camry in that front end. (not a good thing)

I'm a big fan of hood scoops but Damn its kinda big and overdone on this car. The last gen wrx scoop was about the right size.

The 4 door sedan looks better than the hatchback, but still the front looks old, it looks like the current corolla, or a hyundai.
