Next Generation Audi RS 6 and Q7 V12 TDI Caught Cold-Weather Testing
Performance continues to be a big part of Audi?s move to dominance in the luxury automotive market. With new models such as a next-generation RS 6 and production version of the Q7 V12 TDI, the company will have no shortage of headline-grabbing debuts over the next twelve months.

First expected to market is the second-generation RS 6. Audi?s latest RS car has been spotted testing in several locales as of late. Last week a white and black checkered car was spotted at the Nurburgring with what appeared to be a production-looking front fascia and disguised-yet-visible blister-style fenders reminiscent of the iconic flares on the original Quattro and Sport quattro models of the 1980s.

650hp!!! That would make the RS6 the fastest sedan in the world!

However, that would be a bit much. It would probably jack up the price to $100K. 600hp is fine.

People will say it's just an S6, because it has an S6 badge and bodykit... but notice two things: like the RS4, it has two large oval exhausts, in place of the S6's quads. Also, it has more aggressive wheel arches.

Q7 V12 looks just like the concept!

the RS6 is not going to be 650 hp

Audi has told us to look for the +500 - 550 range

So tasty. This report further confirms that the RS6 will have a 5.2 twin turbo V10 FSI engine with about 580 hp. With the S6 already a better handler than the M5/E63, the RS6 will demolish those two.

The Q7 V12 TDI looks great, the brakes are amazing.

The S6 does match M5 lap times though, but isn't as invlolving to drive.

mromar- Wannabe? how come Audi is considered to have the most luxurious interiors in the industry and every RS car that comes out is better then its AMG counterpart and better then or equal to its M competition? Yea there a wanna be, Jackass

AMG is no competition to RS in overall performance.

BTW, I love AMG cars, but they are more luxury oriented then performance, more of a grand tourer then sports car, where as RS cars are more performance oriented then luxuxry compared to AMG.

Hey chewy,

Just like the RS4 was going to demolish the M3 right? You've been spewing that for months now.

Keep dreaming. The M3 is coming and all Audi will be able to do is....NEVER FOLLOW.

Reality sucks.

HAHA...

Wait, the RS4 hasn't demolished the M3? Where are you getting your info? Quicker/faster/better at everything.

"end of the day. Audi win's the comparo because they are comfort focused."

Oh, really? Why did the S6 beat the M5 in almost every PERFORMANCE magazine? Why is it noted for its super-competitive, unexpected handling in EVERY article? Why are you so close-minded?

All I hear are excuses and retarded badge whore stuff.

Sorry, check out the American magazine test numbers (Motortrend and Car and Driver) the S6 posted better skid pad and slalom/lane change test numbers.

mromar1,
"Keep dreaming. If only your BS could change the fact that Audi (a wana'be performance luxo) brand cannot beat Merc let alone BMW."
-----------
As great as Mercedes are in producing high performance automatic cars, Audi is doing well for themselves. Their not a wannabee performance luxo. The RS4 is a prime example of what performance is. The sound that it produces is like no other. I'm an avid Merc fan but Audi I really respect for what they have accomplished. They are totally understated luxo cars. Mercedes is flash with supreme performance w/ auto transmissions.

BMW and Audi have done very well for themselves in the performance department. They are all really good handling cars and not too shabby to drive either. Mercedes isn't like Audi or BMW (which IMO is the sportier brands) where as MB is more luxury oriented. Different philosophy. That's why German has all the ranges covered. Understated Sports-Luxury models(AUDI), Sports-Luxury(BMW), & Luxury-Sport(MB).

So you can't say their wannabees because each have cars that perform.

-----------

Anyways the RS6 wagon rear looks like the A8 and the A4. Should change it a bit to distinguish the two.

S4 you're right! those are huge brakes.

mromar, you have a very American approach. It seems to me that the only reason you think BMWs are better than Audis is because... they're BMWs.

Sales aside. Please, I'd really like to know why Audi's products aren't "credible" in your mind? Obviously, you've never owned one; I'm thankful that I have a true enthusiast's mind and enjoy owning everything there is to own. Now, after owning three Audis (and one fourth for my son), I know how good their cars are, and would definitely buy more. But I would also like to try other companies, to give myself a true prospective. You don't appear to be that kind of person.

If you were truly a car enthusiast, you would respect Audi's recent product revolution, and embrace their superb new vehicles.

I can see that you're not, though.

Agent 63 I have to agree with you on this Audi has made some tremendous leaps and bounds as a automotive company but Chewy your comment is very off colored for you. Chewy you usually take the conservative road on posts, I am quite taken back by your bold comment. I do not believe your choice of words was correct though.

Well actually no. There is plenty of evidence (see my other posts) that the S6 handles better than the M5/E63/ Plus the S6 was just only .1 of a second slower than the M5 on the race track (Motor Trend) and much better than the E63. Take the same S6 and give it 145 more hp and it will demolish the competiton. Of course we will have to wait and see how it does, but based on the performance of the S6 and the expected additions of the RS6, it should be amazing.

You are the naive one! You think Audi doesn't have a better handle on performance than Mercedes? I love Mercedes, but they're luxury sedans. Did you even notice how awesome the RS4 is? That it beat the 500hp $90K M5 on one occasion (the only time they were compared), and that it beat the M3 on all others?

"Chewy, and you so naively assume the "competition" will just stand still."

And you assume, automatically, that BMW will be the best! You're living in the past! BMW's performance cars are great, as well (of course), but now they have to fend off fierce competition from Audi, new AMGs and even Lexus!

I am surprised that no one has commented on the Q7 V12 TDI. All comments on the brakes and styling aside. It is a technological marvel. It has the highest output for a diesel engine in history (production models). I am a big believer in performance diesel technology coming to the States. People need to realize that not all diesels are big duelie pickups. The specs on the Euro BMW 335d are impressive. I know I know wrong make for the thread but I hope that the message came out.
