NEW!!!! High-Stakes Road Rally

The Mosko-Rivellini Enterprises Desert Heat Rally is a high-stakes elite entrance event that is limited to only 200 distinguished individuals. The event will commence in San Francisco and culminate in Las Vegas with a private awards party being held at one of Las Vegas’ premiere night venues. After the flag drop start in San Francisco, participants of the Desert Heat Rally will drive to Los Angeles and Phoenix in that order and then to Las Vegas chasing their share of the $310,000 in winnings that is going to be awarded to the first 5 drivers to make it to Las Vegas.

The driver that comes in 1st place will be awarded $150,000 cash, 2nd place will be awarded $75,000, 3rd place will be awarded $50,000, 4th place will be awarded $25,000, and 5th place will be awarded $10,000. In addition to the prize money, the top 5 drivers will receive suites at the hotel that we are staying at in place of the standard rooms that everyone else is getting. The Mosko-Rivellini Desert Heat Rally will be a widely publicized event with internet, magazine, and possibly television coverage.

Is anyone else finding these things pointless?
It seems like a way for dbags to come out in there trophy cars and drive like asshats while endangering others.

TSD rally can be done safely without lining some promoters pockets.

only way to get in as a contestant is to be "distinguished". wonder what that means. I'm going to Vegas next week for NAB 2007. Hope these weirdos don't run me off the i-15.

It means they are trying not to sound like a bunch prom coordinators looking to make a buck off of wealthy automatic Porsche driving owners looking to drive in an environment where there actual skill and ability as a driver can not be measured. Instead the winner is decided by the individual who risks the most lives, drives the fastest car.... ohh and takes the best route.

Why thanks for that comment. You know, everyday I wake up, and think to myself, "Gee, Its a great day to have my integrity questioned. I hope someone calls me an AssHat." I dont know what your problem with road rallies in general or this rally by itself, but heres two thigs you should know, d1sinfo. 1)Im not an asshat 2)I entered this road rally eariler today. I talked with the organizers, Brian Mosko and Nico something, and they actually sound like they have their stuff together. Its a shame that people like you have to knock these events, because not only will this be a quick and enjoyable rally, there is also a much bigger prize than some little mustang.

Obviously I have no idea if LamboMaster is an asshat (although I think that if you respond a few more times you could lay all mystery to rest). I thought it was obvious that my comments were a generalization meant to be an opinion piece. If people did not get this from my comments than I will be more blunt. I think(which means it is of my opinion that) these road rally events are pointless. This is not to say I am one of those driving nazi's. I enjoy a good spirited drive, I just try not to publicize it, try and make money off of it, do it with 200 other 150mph+ cars, and with 200+ asshats.

yea, its for real. i wish i could have entered a Lambo, but i entered a Charger SRT8. It has the power that i need, but it will still be halfway comfortable for my driving partner and I. im going to try and win the money, but i am definetly looking forward to the awards party in Vegas.

Yeah they probably will drive like asshats but $150,000 is a lot to win. Not to mention the other cash that they are giving away. Id be an asshat for that kinda money, plus private club parties are sweet.

It's obvious what they're doing if you bother to check out the site. They're charging $5,000 per entry (which makes you distinguished, lol) and they say there will be 200 entries. So, if they actually got 200 entries that would be $1,000,000. A hefty profit even after hotel and prizes expenses. However, you know they're a sort of mickey mouse operation because they have no details yet about accomadations and such because until they know they have the entries they don't have the money or the juice to get a big group rate from an LV hotel and other perks. They're taking a no-risk approach. If they don't get enough entries to cover costs all they have to do is refund the money and cancel the event..no loss.

I mean, I don't have any problem with what they're doing...trying to be entrepreneurial, but their marketing scheme (spamming forums) does reek of amateur and yeah, these gumball things are for dorks.

Gonzo, When I entered, they sent me all of the information as far as where the meetings are, and where the accomodations are. We are staying at the Mirage, and the meeting place is somewhere just outside of San Francisco. Its at an events arena, which is actually good, plus its really close to the highway. They dont advertise where everyone is meeting and staying, because they want to make sure that us drivers have privacy, and that there are not 20 cops lined up and down the routes. I was told that they were going to get into a few magazines, and that they were looking at being on covered on a cable channel. I get where your coming from, but I would rather have it done that way, then get 4 speeding tickets right out of the gate. Also, it says Mirage when you get the Registration Packet. (PS. We get two nights in Vegas, plus the awards party. Lots of fun for us asshats!)

yea, but those gumball things are fun as hell. i did a local rally and it was fun as hell. those m***** f****** wouldnt let me enter, so if i get around to it, ide think about entering this one. hahaha, love the prom coodinators comments. the funny thing is, i wonder if these people have ever even seen an exotic car. i picture the promoters of this thing to be driving like 1998 Land Rovers, and they probably think that they are the shit. but who the hell cares, they show up and give a check to the winners, i guess thats all that matters.

LamboMaster, whatever the case, I wish you good luck. My only suggestion would be to make the site as detailed and professional as possible before shooting your exposure wad. First impressions are everything.
