Seriously either your posts are an attempt to dumbfound the rest of us or you are just that clueless. I will not respond to your statements about what the M3 is, or about this MDynamic.

I will say that I am glad F1 'LIKE' technology is in the most recent BMW's. I consider myself the next generation of BMW/Audi/Merc/Jag/Porsche driver and it is refreshing to see they are capturing my interest with the intorduction of F1 'like' technology.

Don't get me wrong I will always be a fan of old, but it wouldn't be old if there wasn't something new, and I like whats new.

1. BMW Enthusiasts already think BMW is the standard.
2. Why does BMW bother updating cars that area already considered perfect by the current BMW consumers.
3. Why offer adjustment in a luxury car? Is that not devaluing the car by saying 'we don't have it figured out so why don't you mess with it'
4. M3 not real sports car, you suggest others are and this is just for posers(or whoever).

Here we go:
1.BMW has been considered by motoring journalists over many years in many different categories to be the standard. It is this method of journalism combined with a hint of truth which in my opinion has created so many blind fans of BMW. That and there ability to consistently actually produce good product(you have to admit some success over the years) ... which is the hint of truth. I do not appluad journalism which creates distinct winners and losers just as I don't applaud the fanaticism we see on these forums today. I think that different cars suit different people, and that many things auto related are subjective, and therefor better journalism combined with NO ranking system leads to a better educated consumer.

2. So if everyone loves me why change. Well thats a very odd view. First thing I don't think any German company would allow themselves to quit, and second well there is no second because its a asinine statement.

3.I think I addressed this by explaining my interest in the techno gadgetry. I actually think it is doing them a dis-service in current M sales TODAY, but its winning over engineering buffs, product design peeps, and basically the youngn's who are going to be buying there cars tomorrow.

4. That is your opinion. I find it unfortunate that you have this opinion because I believe somewhere in your mind you have some paradigm that doesn't allow you to appreciate certain things for whatever reason. It paints your opinions as immature and lacking in logic and reason. I don't know if this is actually true of your opinion but it is my opinion based on observation.

I personally think that somewhere beneath your fanatical fanfare for everything Japanese is some relevant opinions, some wisdom and knowledge, but I am sorry I just cant see the tree's through the forest in most of your posts.

The fact that there is absolutely no logical suit in your reasoning makes it hard to respond to you,
that said, just like d1 did, here is my take on each of your separate points:
- Many people buy BMW because of driving dynamics, anyone having driven a BMW knows they are among the best, which makes them a valid reason for someone to choose a BMW, not that there needs to be reasons, last time i checked we lived in a free world.
- Enthusiasts are by definition people who enjoy something, in this case driving, so you cannot say "think they're driving enthusiasts", AND very few people are unrealistic to the point of thinking BMW has no competition, but we all know BMW is among the best, and that they have dominated the mid segment since creating it ITSELF...
- The point in giving people the choice about how they want the steering is mainly about freedom of choice and practicality, besides the fact that it allows a car, hence its driver, to adapt to different driving situations they are faced with ( road / track ... )! your metaphore with the cooking is actually interesting, in that the more effort you put in something, the more rewarding it becomes, like a REAL sports car.
- Never ever was the NSX a better car than the M3, so if you consider it a real sports car you have to agree that an M3 is too... as for the F430, albeit in a whole other league, it technologically speaking has nothing to bragg about to BMW, and the el manettino system on the F430 is in its finality similar to MDynamics.
- i have to disagree with you about positionning the M3... it is both a very real sports car and can be a perfect daily commute, which is where its ingenuity resides, and i think i have every publication about M3 to back this up.
now one last thing, i still have to grasp why you're complaining, i mean you say you don't like the M3 because it's only good for ricin, yet you nickname is

Being an M5 owner, I can tell you its a brilliant car. The handling and response is awesome , just like the acceleration and speed. The only problem is, it can get uncomfortable in lon driving ours, and in traffic. Also, you will need to get used to the idrive and everything. The engine is a marvel in itself. Its an excellent car.

The M3 is still new so I cant really judge it now, but from what I expect, it will be unbeatable.

It all depends on your needs, if you want a 2 extra doors luxury sports car, its the M5, and if you want a 2 doors sports luxury coupe, go for the M3. Also, the M3 is cheaper, and I guess it will handle better than the M3, and with this new option, it will be more livable on daily driving. Personally I may trade my M5 for the new M3, but I need the 2 extra doors.

In the end, 2 great cars, but it depends on your needs.

I am sure that the M3 is better all round performance than the M5, and it sure as hell looks better..But the sweet sound of the V10 and the fact that its still a big sedan is amazing...I would choose the CLS 63 over both, but thats a little too much (price wise) for me..The other day I saw a Hartge M5, and it was absolutely stunning..

when the hell did 25 become old? Believe me I'd rather have a 20 year old girl,( I am only 26) but 25 is not old. And if you need your car to get you chicks, your doing it all wrong

I dont know. V10 507 hp seem like something hard to say no to, plus its a spacious 4 door, and quiet decent looking..The M3 is amazing, but the 3 series has always been a girly car for me..

You set yourself up for attacks from those comments. I don't know what majority you're making your calls from but the majority of M3 owners do not rice out their cars. First off it's not even Japanese so how can they 'rice' it out? Secondly, it's German aftermarket parts they turn to not SPOON, HKS, and etc. Hamann, MVR, Dinan, Alpina, and so forth are the lists of tuner brands they go to and they look nothing like the 'ricer' brands. Last but not least, your comment in regards to 'chicks' shows how old you are.

Sure, there are plenty of @ssholes out there who drive M3s and are complete posers. They go 60mph on the 55mph highway while everyone else goes 80... and I'm going 100.

But then there are the purists. The M3 was not created to be a poser car; the owners I mentioned above have given it this image. The purists, on the other hand, buy the M3 for driving. It just so happens that the car is also very prestigious. I feel that I am one of those people, or will be, if I buy an M3.

So buy calling the RS4 a POS, then you are also calling the E46 M3 a POS, since the RS4 kills it. Come on, both the RS4 and New/OLD M3 are amazing cars, there is no need for that shit, leave that to RICEMASTER.

although the RS4 is (and will be) my favorite against the M3, you might be right about the handling. I have my doubts (its still a quattro against rear drive) and I bet in cold/wet weather the RS4 will win, on a clean track the new M3 will win. And that will be totally understandable if happens, cause the new M3 will be released more than 2 years later than the (almost old) RS4. I say old cause this year the new S4 will show up and soon after that the new RS4 should be up for sale pretty fast. So that will give the new M3 about one year to be happy, that's it. Just like the current RS4 is far better than current M3, I believe the same will stand for next gen of both cars. Of course, there is a price not many people wanna pay ($70k for an decent RS4) so if the M3 keeps their 55-60k limit will have very goooood sales. And why not, will be another iconic car.

sailor and to everyone ... The release date of the M3 to the US will be April 2008 as a 2008. The actual car will debut at the Frankfurt Auto show in production version. The car should debut in Europe Sept or Oct of this year as a 2008. The M3 conv should be here in the US in the fall of 2008 as a 2009.

I am not sure what there is to discuss. You feel it's a bad idea for BMW to add this feature and maybe a mess of other features to there cars. I would guess to say you may even bash them if and when they were to make a less feature rich version of the car and claim the r34 or whatever had those techno gadgets X years ago.

My point is simply this. They sell cars, there cars sell well, and maybe instead of acting like you know how they could sell better, step back and understand why they sell well today. I guarantee it has very little to do with boobs, status symbols, or 'rice' which btw I have no clue what you are talking about.

You might find a history(kind of short 60's) which is rooted in the sports sedan. They have had a clear image throughout there marketing which focused purely on the facts, and usually did not fill that marketing with hype and BS. It worked, created a loyal customer base, and like anything with a strong brand image it also has the occasional dbag looking to promote themselves with that image.

I drive cars, I love driving, and it happens to be that many BMW cars are aligned with my needs. Those needs have nothing to do with status.

As far as the adjustable rack. This is preferences, and needs. I might want a quicker setup at the track and a longer setup at the track, same goes for all the settings on the M5/M6.

But they are good handling cars. No car enthusiast will buy a car if it didn't handle well. The selling point can not be a status thing.

So your kind of talking yourself in a circle. Would the status be there if the performance at one point wasn't? You act as though at one point a car doesn't have to be good to be so credited. Fact remains dbags will buy all sorts of cars, and for whatever reason they choose. I can look beyond that, look at the car and see just how good it actually is(in my mind), and decide if I want to purchase it.

Get over it, the M3 has been consistently a performer, same goes for most German sports sedans.
