15 Year Old Outruns Cops In BMW M3 Until...

The E30 chassis M3 perhaps the most hard-tuned, sport focused 3-series ever built. The clip provides evidence that in a hot pursuit lighter is better and handling counts more than horsepower.

If the BMW hadn't broke down, he might've gotten away!

...go figure...

If that was supposed to be an insult, good job, my feelings are truly hurt.

If he were in a Lexus, he would have been able to travel at high speeds without the car giving up on him. This video is living proof of what makes Lexus better than those POS BMWs that only perform so "magically" in a short window of time.

It's a friggin BMW. I'm so sick of the guys who talk about lexus on every thread. Good luck running from the cops in a heavier more expensive camry.

That was cool. That Deputy was a real B*tch though. "He made a movement like he was going to ram me" Ram him back! I love how a 15 year old outsmarts a guy who was probably doing that for 15 years. That corvette engine sounded awesome.

Another sad kid sucked into the BMW poser marketing hype. "Ultimate Driving Machine?" Sure! Until 15 minutes later when the engine dies for no apparent reason other than "he used it too hard!"

you guys don't know the real story behind this car chase. cops actually made everything up. the actual driver of the m3 is a really good autocross driver, not some 15 year old car thief. the car actually never broke down and despite their claim that they managed to catch up to the guy, they had actually lost him completely after a while. the clip in the end showing the m3 pull over supposedly broken down is actually a re-run of the U-turn clip earlier in the video but in slow motion.

eventually the guy was caught at his home. it's just that the cops were never able to catch up to the m3 that day.

I heard the same rumor in the Youtube website. I agree. Just because it is a BMW doesn't mean it does not requre proper handling. Some idiot who happens to be my brother's friend stole my tuned E30 and crashed it and now he's in jail and his parents are waiting to be sued by me. It took me a while to get used to the car's handling the first time I got it and when I did, there's no limit to what it can do and it gets better with suspension upgrades.
The part where they claim that the engine blew out is not true at all. Even then, BMW has always tuned the DME to limit the engine at a certain top speed so the driver can only abuse the engine at a certain extent. This video is indeed one good example that cops cannot outrun a sportscar with a good handling and a skilled driver.

Do we really know that this BMW broke down?!? Thats just what they said on the video, but how do we know for sure?!? I bet you that kid got away, and you know why I say that?...because they would have shown kid and bimmer cought/pulled over if cops really cought them.

Cops can't drive imports, you want cops to drive something faster, theyll take a Mustang GT500, or a Corvette, or a Viper.

It really funny when a BMW M3 was push to the limit and break down, German fanboy going crying and making excuses.

What about that brand new BMW 335i that broke down/overheat on the four lap on the track? is that what you German fanboys call magical feel? Magical feel my A$$.

wow this video is seriously stoneage. also, its been long known that the video clip (shown on tv during americas wildest police chases) has been doctored to make it appear the car broke down and the police caught the guy. this is completely false, which can be seen at the end of the clip. that part is a re-run of the u-turn and slowed down. add sound effects.

the media makes up news everyday. sometimes on purpose, sometimes on accident.

If u have two eyes and a brain, you could tell that this is total BULLSHIT.
If you cannot tell this, and actually believe the car broke down,

you are either blind or u have no brain, like Lexus Fan Boys.

mromar1...here you go again, talking useless crap about other vehicles, even when you can't afford a luxury ride, even a Kia Spectra for that matter. Instead you have no choice but to resort to your mommy's Chevy Nova...

Lets compare the E30 era M3 to a similar era Lexus and see who wins. You can't use Toyota, Lexus fanboys. C'mon this is a test to your pristine claims that reliability is pinnacle and performance is shite; comparatively speaking that is.

The kid drove the wheels off that car. He probably was banging off the rev limiter for awhile to break down like that! The S14 is strong but it's not invincible.

This video is old. No matter what happened in the end, car braking down or not, BMW is a great car brand and that kid owned that cop.

That was intense. You know, for a 15 year old, he wasn't a bad driver. If his car hadn't of broke down, I would like to have seen what happened next. Kind of a boring ending, though.
