The car looks good and sounds nice but it's not my taste. The import tuner look this car has received from it's designer I would have loved when I was few years younger. For a more conservative look the RS4/M3/ and the new C class would suit my needs better. This gives the appearance of a young racer boy type. So in my lifestyle in business, the IS-F in comparison with an IS250 or 350 would make no difference so why would I spend the extra for the power when I don't need it. If I wanted the power I'd go get a sports coupe instead. Then again it all boils down to bragging rights. So it will be a bragging right between the IS owners who has the F tuned model. It will give it's supposed competition a good run for the money but I think basing from my city most would still turn to the European and European exotics.

The IS-F does look good but what's good and great? design's so subjective. I'll leave it at that.

The best car in the world ever? It has yet to be out yet and you make such a claim. How can it beat all the great cars in the world?

Does your father buy you posters of cars and you sit there on your bed dreaming of them? so you go online and watch videos and reviews and make an automatic assumption? Go get a life and go test drive some of these cars and maybe then you'll respect the other brands. Lexus is not the best in the world, but they are good at the people they cater to.

i think the 1000 units are for the LF-A supercar. but i have to hear or read it from lexus them selves for proof.

they're going to make far more than 1,000. they need at least a few thousand if they really are going after the M and RS.

From the front it looks very good but the side is just horrible. I'm in the tunning industry so this car will be popular among the wealthy 20 year olds but for anyone past thirty it looks too legoish.

I am glad they are bringing in the "F" line finally, seeing how every other manufacturer has a performance line, such as Acura's Type S and BMW M...and so on...This car is good in my eyes, and will appeal to the right people, all the nay sayers out there can go buy there M3 etc. but this car will still have a market.

Anyone want to know what the worst Autoshow was...The TORONTO AUTOSHOW...biggest disappointment of the year...no good concepts to show, just the horrible Mazda ones that made me lose my lunch..

I like it...but what I really wanna know is the name of that song.

agreed. some of the aftermarket companies have done a much more refined, elegant update to the IS350. i believe there was was a post here about that just a week or two ago....

Absolutely just "Stunning" it very sporty and elegant at the same time. I think it look much better than the new BMW M3 and MB C-class AMG. But I wonder if it going to performance as good as it look; I sure hope so.

Why would you buy the IS-F without even driving the RS4? OR THE IS-F?!

You just have to drive the Audi first... the C AMG and M3 are on hiatus, so that's your only other option.

If Lexus makes a better driver's car, I'd be blown away. But there's just not much of a chance.

Why wouldnt you expect a tuned version of a Japanese luxury car to look like it was tuned in the style of a Japanese tuner. That's clearly what Lexus was going for. Do you expect it to look like an AMG, which is to say nothing except subtle ground effects? Or an M, with its silly side view mirrors and hood vents?

The thing is, you shouldn't have to make excuses for the IS-F's unappealing bodykit.

You don't see me making excuses for the RS4's sexy 'kit, or BMW fans on the new M3's... because we don't have to.

the aftermarket JAPANESE tuners did a far better job with the IS than lexus did with the IS-F.

The only thing thats impressive about this car is the rims... they really look nice. Other than that, I dont like how it looks at all.... Another thing, it says it can do 0-60 mph in 4.9 seconds. This means it already got spanked by the RS4 and M3. Makes me wonder what the fanboys were smoking when they said it can beat the gallardo.

I'd say that's probably true, but Lexus actually sometimes OVERestimates their 0-60 times... nobody has been able to match the LS460's claimed 5.4 second time, or the GS450h's 5.2. So that's why we'd be weary about this IS-F.

On the other hand, Audi and BMW underestimate theirs. The RS4 is claimed by Audi at 4.8... but it's gotten 4.3. BMW also claims 4.8 for the new M3, and it'll be in the same ballpark.

it is common knowledge that mercedes underestimates the most, followed by BMW. hundreds of road tests it the automotive press have borne this out.

likewise, lexus' times are difficult to recreate even under ideal circumstances. they typically overestimate.

same situation with SAE ratings. when they were reset last year, many of the japanese SAE horsepower ratings went down.

yea i agree, because the is350 does 0-60 in 5.2 and people have done the 0-60 in 4.9. so im guessing that this car has to do the 0-60 in 4.2-4.5 seconds.

the IS350 claimed time is 5.3. where have you heard it does 4.9?

remember, lexus is very aggressive with its claims. unlike MB and BMW claims which over years and years have consistently been very conservative. ex. 335i claim of 5.3 but many tests getting 4.8.

ONE LAST THING...

They wouldn't "really be screwing up" if this car didn't get better than 4.6. It's not about the numbers. It's about the experience. No matter how quick this car is, Lexus would REALLY be screwing up if it doesn't handle well. It would get bashed by the magazines and have generally bad publicity... another hyped-up, not-followed-up car produced by Lexus, they'd say.

Look at my B6 S4, at least the sedan. It wasn't as quick as the E46 M3, oh no. But on at least two or three occassions, its great handling and competence pushed it to the #1 spot above the BMW. The same could apply to Lexus... or not. We'll have to wait and see.
