mromar, "LexusLexusLexus" isn't actually a Lexus fanboy. The "reliability" line was a mockery of the Lexus fanboys. In fact, take a second look at his "driver" argument. It's valid.

what argument is valid? the one where schumi keeps up with an old lady? In a straight line? that is not a valid argument! what does the driver have to do besides smash the throttle and shift?

just mash the pedal? what about shifting? both were standard! dont act like the driver doesnt mean anything just because it was a straight line!

i've driven the M5 on a track and it is truly a super sedan that you can actually drive everyday. amazing that it can keep up with the gallardo.

the Gallardo does in fact have a Cx=0.37 whereas the BMW has Cx=0.30, so this does play along in the comparison, but you have to remember the M5 weighs 1755 kg whereas the Gallardo weighs 1430 kg (factory numbers) so the Gallardo has more drag, but it has less weight to drag... so the fact that the M5 is able to keep up is just astounding, no matter what!

and the added drag on the Gallardo does not give it any downforce advantage over the M5 because the Lambo has a near zero positive lift coefficient, and the M5 has a slightly negative one ( sorry can't remember the numbers, so anyone...)

Stop trying to compare a tuned car to a stock car. No one cares about your supra, there ugly as hell and poeple looking to buy a M5 or Gallardo would not be looking at your ricer Supra.

Thats awesome for the M5, but Weight advantage disappears once the speed increases where aerodynamics play a greater role. From a standing start the Gallardo's weight is an advantage, but starting at speed, the weight is really not much of an advantage, esp since the power is about the same. I also think the M5 is tuned alittle bit, I have seen this M5 race before on youtube and the guy said he had about 30HP extra.

From a standing start the Lambo would win easily, esp with the AWD launch.

lexus- The styling of the Toyota Celica Supra was derived from the Toyota Celica, but it was both longer and wider.[ it wasnt till 7 years later that the supra had its own body.And the supra is not even close to a supercar, putting that car in the same ranks as ferrari ,lambo , mclaren F1, and the veyron is a disgrace.

The M5 performance is brilliant and seamlessly never ending. The Gallardo may be kept up by certain cars but it's the fact you own a Lamborghini. It's the sound it produces and the passion of owning an exotic sports car. It's very satisfying.

The Supra was never a supercar. But I'm sure it handles better than any present day Lexus though :). I wonder where they went wrong with the SC430.

I liked how you see the Gallardo buck slightly when it shifts and the M5 is completely solid. I believe that is the only good application for the SMG-II 7sp. FULL THROTTLE!

I was just at the NY show saw the Gallardo and the Murcielago. It's interesting to see that Lambo sources some of the interior pieces from their Audi parent. The carbon fiber from RS4 and R8 looks just like the ones on the Lambos. Got in the M5 at the show too and it's nice but not special like the Lambos (you couldn't get in them)
