What you NEED to know if you're buying a used BMW 6-Series

Ah, please. You're pissing me off. Audi fan or not, you can admit to liking BMW. I used to be the same way... but I appreciate all three German brands. The 6 is a beauty, and its current shape will endure for quite a long time. It still looks new.

Well coming from a guy with a name like “AudiLexus” I’m not even condone your comment with an argument. I just want you to convince me how the Lexus SC is anything short of a styling disaster.

The 6-series is one of the most striking vehicles on the road, true it may not be beautiful from certain angles, but in motion on the road this car looks truly amazing. The Back of the car looks great from most angles, but also just as bad from others.

Either way it’s been more than a great car for myself, friends & family walk into my garage & ask me what kind of BMW is this, & ultimately find the car absolutely stunning.

You have a 650i coupe, right?

That is just a stunning car. The design is special and completely different from any other car on the road, and it's timeless. The SL was prettier when it came out... but suddenly the 6 is looking better. If I could have one BMW convertible, it would be the M6. I'd have to settle for the 650i, though. How are the back seats in it? I haven't heard good things... and I want a car that seats four in comfort.

It definitely has road presence and is particularly menacing viewed from the front in black.

It has impressive sporting credentials, but may also be the perfect coupe to drive in traffic all day.

It's a comfortable place to be during rush hour as it is a luxury coupe. However the level of luxury I prefer in an SL but it's just preference. Not that this car is any less of a great car. Just styling wise my heart is elsewhere.

Agent, have you sat in them both? The 6 actually seems more luxurious. Higher-quality materials, plusher seats, roomier. I don't know. I haven't had a ton of seat time in either, but that's how it seems.

Need to know: get the extended warranty.

I think it is currently the best looking BMW on the road.

That car is a good car but, definitly is not a good coupe 2+2 due the back seat is for childrens so any CL is a better option. It is to heavy to call it Sport so wait for M3 is better option. Related to the design, I prefer do not say any comments due that is something subjective. But if we pay attention on what BMW try to reach with M6 you can say for sure that they have a winner. This Car is not enough to be a Luxury car and is not enough to be a good Sport car, BUT It is a good car for people that wish MB Cl for luxury and an M3 for sport ride, but does not have the money to buy both.

The CL550 goes over $100,000 with very little options... so you're already in M6 territory. I know what I'd take if I wanted serious speed. Luxury? The CL is sumptuous, and easily surpasses the M. But that's not to say the BMW isn't luxurious.

To fully grasp an M car’s genius you have to drive it like there’s no tomorrow.

It has all the automotive subtlety of a nuclear explosion. And bless the M-division for that!

The stiff suspension, jumpy throttle and sequential transmission are about as compatible to low-speed driving as the Hummer is to Al Gore.

I think if you love the 650i, then you won’t necessarily love the M6.

Have kid? I have a kid in college and a kid in law school. I feel the same way as you- life isn't fair. If I wasn't paying $100K on schooling, I could afford a CL63 AMG, too!

As if any of you can't tell from my other posts, I love the 6 Series. Bar the 911, it's the only convertible I'd really want to buy at this price.

We seriously considered the 650 convertible. But it was a bit expensive, iDrive was unpleasant, the rear seats are damn near nonexistent and I really just didn't like the interior. But it goes like stink though!!!
I bought a CLK 500 Convertible instead. It seems bigger inside, has just as much engine the Command is easier to use to me and I got a real good deal on an 06 VS an 07 550.

Yes "S4" my 650i is treating me just fine, 0 problems to report, the more I drive it the more I love it. I don't really use the back seats much though, seeing as it is a pretty tight area, usable but tight. I personally don't like people back there because it's very easy to scuff up back of seats.

The trunk however makes up for the loss of space inside the cabin, it's huge.

The interior though is on another level for a BMW, the more you sit in it, more you realize how stylish the cabin really is. Incredibly comfortable car, & not to mention fun, you feel more than confident behind it's solid wheel. Best road trip of my life in it, drove from Boca to Toronto & I'm waiting for the next road trip.

Plus like you said the styling doesn't get old, I've owned the car for about a year now & still catch myself walking backwards away from it.

There are just too many tempting cars that I'll be looking at in a few years... this will be the hardest car decision I've ever had to make. The S4 was a given- it was only between sedan and Cabriolet. Now it's between:

Carrera 4, M3, 650i, RS4, RS5, CLK550... drool.

Strangely this car has no presence. The drivers look like twats trying desperately to look cool. The 5 series looks much more stylish and dignified compared to this, and so does the 3 series. So if you want the power and the looks M5 it is.

The 5 is currently the worst in the BMW lineup. The rest of them, I love. Then there's those idiots in 525s... posers.
