Do you know the most memorable car scenes from the Sopranos?
HBO’s mob drama The Sopranos, now in its sixth and final season, is an interesting case study in how cars can define one’s character. The hit series follows the life of mob boss Tony Soprano, who heads two families — his biological one, and the New Jersey mafia. The huge SUVs Tony drives, first a Chevrolet Suburban and then a Cadillac Escalade, reflect his character — they’re imposing, macho and powerful.

cadillacs and the maffia go together like peanut butter and jelly :)

Cadillacs = power, glory, prestige

The only ones that compare are MB, Rolls, and the old Jags

Carmela is an E-class driver and John had a Maserati at one point. Tony will always go the American way, I recall Christopher had an LS400 in the begining, then got a Hummer H2.

Mercedes is the car of The Sopranos as Tony had that affair with the client advisor a few seasons back and the Mercedes brand and dealership were shown in numerous episodes.

Carmella had an E-class, then Tony got her a Cayenne.

Tony had a (burgundy) Suburban, but crashed it and got (white) Suburban, and then crached it. Now he has the cream Escalade.

Christopher had and LS400, but Tony used it to run down a guy outside an office building. Chris then got a Range Rover and had that for a bit. Then he had the Maserati from Johnny Sack, but that got repo'd. Now he has the H2.

A lot of the older guys in the Sopranos crew have Cadillacs.

He is too soft to drive an Escalade.

You would think they'd use the menacing 300C as a 'gangster' car.

I love the way they select cars in the show. They reflect the personalites of each actor so well.

And Bobby would not be able to pull off the scene Tony had in the Escalade while giving that poor young lady a ride home from the Bing at the end of the first half of the last season :).

I almost felt bad for Christopher when the Maserati got seized by the Feds, first he loses Adrianna and now this, no wonder he is back to using.
