All new Pirelli P Zero the best tire on earth?

Pirellis are crap..it's all about Firestone...they blow the competition away! (ok that was bad but I had to)

Pirelli Corsa or Michelin PS2 are the only ones i use and trust.

I happen to have both the Pirelli P-Zero and the
Bridgestone Potenza RE050A Pole Position. The Bridgestones are better in dry conditions and waaaaay better on wet pavement.

Excellent choice. Plus they do tend to wear better than the Pirellis.

Maybe if you drive a Prius or if you don't care about performance.

Pirelli make exceptional tyres. However their performance results in loss of tyre life -softer compound rubber. I find Michelin to be a better 'all-rounder'.

agree Matthew, I feel like Michelin Pilot Sport & PS2's are the greatest sets of rubber on earth. I had many problems with Continentals, Pirelli's & Dunlops.

I would agree that the pilot sports are sticky and best feeling on my car but hardly reliable in my experience.

I use nothing but "Yokohama Advan" on my vehicles..

Michelen's are exceptional. Toyo's have been recieving good reviews recently.

I've been using the Proxes 4's with great results. Sticky and good wear. They do roll a bit more than my pilot sports did and arent quite as confidence inspiring. Then again, they cost nearly half as much.

I prefer Michelin Pilot Sports 2s. The thing about tires and racing, it cannot be taken too seriously. Racing compounds for F1 probably have radical constructions that a road car will less likely have. Chances are that tire manufacturers providing rubber for GT-class cars are better for gauging the companies ability to deliver the goods albeit race slicks are different from semi-slick road-biased tires.

Here is another personal example of why I do not fall for Motorsports-marketing/advertising; Michelin have been the number one tire provider for MotoGP for the last six years with Bridgestone providing competitive rubber while Dunlop is the 'inferior' brand. World Superbikes run a control tire with Pirelli, which many of the lap times of these production-based bikes are close to that of the MotoGP bikes now. In the AMA Superbike class, Dunlops are the favored tire manufacturer with Michelin not being the front-runners in this series. I guess Michelin does not have enough data with the current production racers to fight with Dunlop. From my experience, all of the manufacturers provide great tires. Many companies run with Pirelli's Diablo Corsa tires, which provide great grip but lacks a certain feel when you need that confidence while pushing. I like the Michelin and Bridgestone high-performance tires but they are not perfect. Despite Dunlops being poor on the premier motorcycle class, they do good street tires with the Qualifiers. On my pal's CBR1000RR, Dunlop Qualifier tires gave predictable traction with great stability that the others did well but nowhere near as excellent as these. All I am saying is that never judge a tire because of racing-roots, whether your judgement is good or bad until you try them and others.

hmm where are people like MunichRob, Sev, enthusiast, formula1, mroma, et all? where are the european tire fanboys at? i think its best said that pirelli is the best because of their racing heritage and that their high cost means they are a prestigious brand. haha people are so silly.

Tires on production cars are like commercials on TV. It is advertising. One model year you will Pirelli, aonther year Michelin, another Yokohama. Usually it is the tire company that gives the carmaker the better deal. But overall, most tires are best chosen to suit your personal needs and preferences and driving habits. Yokohama, Pirelli, Goodyear, Bridgestone, Dunlop, Continental all make exceptinal tires but for mileage and performance combination Michelin stands out. But I can't stand BFGoodrich and I think Toyo, Kumho and some of the other newer brands compete pricewise but not qualitywise..

I had Pirelli's on my Maxima, amazing grip and feel. But NYC roads got the best of them after 15,000 miles, not the 30,000miles they were rated for.

Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3 for me. They are the best tyres on earth.
