It's still looks like a 3series.

I saw the S5 at the NY autoshow last night and there was a well dressed gentlemen inquiring about the price and availability of the S5 and S8 - the lady said the S5 should come in "just over $50k". I didn't get to hear the rest of what she said. You couldn't get in the car but it sure looked nice from the outside - she even popped the trunk for him to see - it looked pretty big for a coupe.

Yes, that's not a surprise. Slightl price increase over S4 sedan.

It's not that big- two inches longer than the 3 Series coupe.

Actually, that isn't the S-Line version. They're just showing the A5 coupe without a bodykit.

I was referring to the inside of the trunk looking big for a coupe - not the car itself.

From the rear view: Take the badges and wheels off this A5 and a BMW 335 and you'll have a hard time telling them apart unless you know what to look for.

Similar look to the BMW 3 series coupe

IMO, the rear light cluster may look similar, but that's about it. The A5 looks better proportioned in pictures. Seeing a 335i Coupe in person is much nicer than any picture, but something about the area just behind the rear wheel well, going up to the rear bumper, looks odd to me. I'll hold final judgement until I see the A5 in the flesh -- only 6 more months!

I saw the Audi S5 yesterday at the auto show. I was given the rare opportunity to sit inside the car. I had spoken to one of the reps and she told me to come bacl later after the crowd and she will see what she can do. I was so excited. The seats are even better than the ones in the S6. I can honestly say that they are one of the most comfortable seats I have ever sat in. Keep in mind I am 6'2" and 280 lbs and fit like a glove. There is no comparison to the BMW's. I was a huge BMW fan but the current line of cars don't do it for me. They might drive great but it is a shame the interior is so stark and styling is not what it used to be. I never thought that I would be so impressed with the audi but it is even nicer in person. I am the proud owner of a Infiniti M45sport and love the car but it lacks the ability to drive well in bad weather. Being that the Audi is AWD is a huge plus. The trunk was a nice size but is a little too narrow I think for Golf clubs. I can't wait to drive one!!! This looks so much better than the BMW 3 series. Not to mention the morons at BMW didn't bring the new M3 to the NY auto show! Sorry but when this comes out I will have to consider this when my lease is up. Way to go Audi!!

What did it LOOK like in person? From the auto show pics (not the Audi pics), it looked amazing. I'm holding my breath for the RS5.

The Audi A5 rear end (tail lights) is an evolution of the B7 Audi A4 that came out way before the 3 series coupe. The 3 series coupe borrows B7 Audi A4 tail light style.

I agree that they nailed the design. It looks way beter in person. Like I said the nicest seats!!! For all the BMW fans which I was a huge one in the past.....just take it for what is is worth. Beautiful styling.... AWD.....Great performance S5......RS5 in the works......and they will make a drop top. I have no idea but I guess it will be a ragtop. It would keep costs down but a hard drop top would be awesome. The Rims are killer!! BMW look out because you have lost me on your styling.
