Audi Locus Concept: a look at the future TT

Audi Locus Concept: a look at the future TT
Ugur Sahin’s Audi Locus Concept has attracted over 13,000 visitors to the designer’s website and now it’s one of the entries in this year’s Michelin Challenge Design competition. The Audi Locus concept takes design cues from Audi such as a dome-shaped roof and a deep Audi grille, so-much-so that Ugur’s Audi Locus concept almost looks like a more aggressive and muscular Audi TT.

Winner of Michelin’s Challenge Design competition, which attracts artists from 51 countries, get the chance to see their work come to life and put on display at the next Detroit Auto Show. Goodluck Ugur and great job with the design.

Wow, did anyone actually read the article?

This isn't an official Audi concept. It was penned by a freelance designer for a design competition.

However, with publicity like this, I wouldn't be surprised if Audi were to take him on.

Am I the only one who dislikes this?

1. As Matthew said, this is NOT an Audi concept. It was designed for a competition.

2. The design isn't focused. Some if it is sharp and super-modern, while the wheels and side panels look like they could've come off the 1994 Hyundai Tiburon concept. Very odd. The current TT and R8 are so much better-looking.

No you aren't-

I don't like it either. It looks like a typical 90's concept car, it isn't particularly innovative, nor is it pretty.

the detailing is terrible, such as the 'naked' headlight projectors, mesh grille and silver side sills.

It doesn't pay homage to Audi's current design theme at all, instead comes off very generic.

Remember people, it is easy to make a 'nice' looking concept coupe, but to make a truly exciting, innovative one is a different story. This doesn't cut it.

Maybe its the designer's idea of the future Audi TT. I agree that it doesnt look as sharp as the current one. But its still agressivly designed.

Oooooo!!! Looks awesome. Too bad its only a photoshop design for a competition, Audi should really go after it.

hey guys. new here to autospies. my loyalty is to audi. has been been ever since iv gotten into cars and design. savin up for the new tt right now but waiting for the s-line. ANYWAY ill cut to the chase... this thing looks great from the front... but the back... is it just me or does the rear look hideous. if this ended up being a concept for the tt i think it would be great...as long as the back was modified...alot.

I don't think it will be an Audi concept. Ever. This is a step backwards. It could have been an Audi sports car concept... ten years ago. The wheels were taken from the 1999 Pontiac Grand Am.

Probably too late for me as my current A6 lease expires in the spring of 2008. Too bad the wheels look like they were designed by a Pontiac apprentice stylist. I hate gimmicky wheel styles like 3-spoke wheels. Sporty cars should always have Ferrariesque 5-spoke wheels -- Audi should know better.

Well...

Audi didn't design it, and it ISN'T going into production. EVER.

Thank you, Matthew!

EnnNorak, AUDI ISN'T BEHIND THIS. Read the article: a student designed it for a competition.

I HATE THIS TITLE!!! WHY DID YOU USE THIS TITLE?

Look like a baby bugatti.

It even looks like the designer mixed all of the VW owned brand's designes together and this is the result

Bugatti+Bentley+Audi+Lamborghini+seat+VW...etc = Locus.

The Locus concept is really slick?

I'm sure Mercedes & Maybach are just sick now.....

It would be nice to see a small Bugatti come out that too.

Great concept. This would finally give the TT a meaner edge that its been lacking. Audi should definitley take some cues.

If he designed the concept to look like a Lexus it would look better.

I think it looks like a cloud. It doesn't DRIVE like a cloud- it looks like one. Imagine it in white. The shape of the vehicle is completely unappealing.
