Long term in the Infiniti M45-What's the verdict?

Although I haven’t had experience with a “lane-departure system” yet, it has always sounded like an annoyance to me, not a feature. It should be punishment for getting a DUI, not a standard “reward” for spending 60K on a car; How about spending that development money on making sure the accessories will shut off if the battery is getting drained?

..And now BMW’s version will vibrate the seats when it senses you straddling the line without a blinker. Are they running out of ideas, or just trying to annoy drivers? I can’t wait ‘til the day a deafening alarm goes off when the car “senses” you going over the speed limit.

...Actually the vibration is in the steering wheel. I grabbed that tidbit from Cnet, who initially incorrectly reported the vibration in the seat. Sorry.

It can be turned off; but it's still ridiculous.

Citroen have it too, they had it first. Vibrates the seat.

Infiniti's LDW can be set to be in the off position as a default when started. Just press and hold the LDW Switch for 5 seconds when disabling it.

I do see it. There's an odd, steep curve down the navigation screen, into the wood trim. The wood then flattens out.

still don't love the styling, but kudos to infiniti on the powertrain and suspension.

I have been the proud owner of a M45 Sport. I have the car over a year and a half and have almost 30,000 miles. I love the car as much as day one. The torque is intoxicating. The only downside has been poor handeling in the snow. At 6'2" and 280 lbs It fits me like a glove. The fit and finish is superb and the seats are a A++. The stereo is great and the DVD surround sound is mind blowing. The car pulls like a freight train. I have gone agains some other cars on the open road and Left a BMW 335 coupe in the dust at 145mph! I followed the information on this car since it was badged a concept nissan fuga and know now that this was the right car for me. It might not be for everyone but for the $$$ I like it much better than the Audi A6 and Mercedes BEnz e class. I didn't like the Lexus GS430 it was too cramped and it did not perform as well as the m45. The brakes were terrible to modulate on the Lexus. Overall the only thing I could Wish for would be a super high performance Infinit M.

Oh by the way lane-departure system is almost always a pain in the ass!! It is default set on and you need to turn it off each time you start the car. It is a waste of technology. Get rid of it!!

The Infiniti M35/45 look nice though in my opinion. I was looking into one but it was off my budget at that time. However I would probably lean towards a Lexus GS300 rather than a M35. Mainly because I use to have the old GS300 and it was smooth as silk and had more than enough punch for me to overtake people on the roads. The GS430 was quicker obviously but I didn't need the power.

The Infiniti M and G are basically "INFINITI". The FX aren't bad but they are heavy. The QX56 I think has low quality parts. It's no better than the Pathfinder Armada. Cheap plastics!

The Infiniti M is a great car that's whipped the pants off the BMW 5-Series in many comparison tests (or just one that we were all overexposed to...). I also happen to like the Lexus GS's styling a bit more appealing, and the GS's interior a little less busy. These are the only two reasons I wouldn't buy it.

The M is sweet. The M45 is probably the best sedan Infiniti has ever produced. Although that doesn't sound like much (Infiniti is less than eighteen years old), it's a massive leap over prior Infiniti sedans, even the previous G35.

The refinement, although often criticized in light of its competitors, is really quite good. Although I haven't driven the M45 (I had an M35X as a rental once or twice), I know the engine is fantastic. And I must say I love the looks. The mid-size lux/sport class is one of the most competitive in the industry- all of them, except oldies like the 9-5 and S-Type, are charming cars with many talents.
