2008 Infiniti's get XM radios as standard equipment. Will other manufacturers follow their lead in 2008?

XM the nation’s leading provider of satellite radio with more than 7.6 million subscribers, along with luxury auto maker Infiniti, today announced that XM Radio will become a standard factory-installed feature on all 2008 Infiniti models. Infiniti vehicles featuring XM Radio are on display this week during the New York International Auto Show at the Jacob Javits Convention Center.

As the exclusive satellite radio service for Infiniti, XM will be a standard factory-installed feature on every 2008 Infiniti model, including the G, M, FX and QX.

I would hope that manufacturers would take Audi's lead and give the buyer the choice between XM or Sirius. Why lock the user into one or the other.

XM and Sirius are merging so it doesn't matter.... I'm sure XM is giving Infiniti some kickbacks for installing the systems standards as they're desperate for customers. Both of them thought it was a no-brainer that satellite was the future of radio and everyone would quickly switch over. I'm sure 10 years from now it will be, but not anytime too soon. lol, bet they feel like idiots now that they got into ludicrous bidding wars against each other and now they're merging.

I agree once again Acura not getting the proper respect. I have an 04 TL and it came standard with XM. Infinitit use to do the Sirius thing, but they got brought by XM.

Very few are sticking to XM...
Only GM, Acura, and Infiniti I believe offer XM.
All other manufacturers are going Sirius.
Audi will offer Sirius standard on most of its models for 08. (A6, A8, RS4, Some Q7s)

XM brought Sirius they all will be XM, Lexus does XM also, put it this way any vechicle with real-time traffic has XM. Acura was the first to have real-time traffic in the RL and now they are the first to have it in every model.
