That’s Absurd: Prius fails Georgia emissions test due to fuel saving feature
hey say you have to keep moving forward with the times, but Georgia unfortunatelly is milking its outdated systems for all their worth. The Toyota Prius is one of the most eco-friendly cars out there, so why does it fail emissions test in Georgia? Well, when the Toyota Prius is set to 2,500 rpm on the tester, it shuts off the engine to save fuel like it’s made to do. So what does Georgia do? It fails the Prius in emissions testing.

Instead of moving forward with the times and adapting to new hybrid technology, Georgia forces owners to pay a $25 testing fee for an “aborted test.” Not only that; in order to get permission to buy a license plate for their Prius, owners must take their failed certificate to a waive center to be able to drive eco-friendly.

Stereo typing an entire people by their geographic location is just as bad as stereo typing them by their race...I am one of the many Georgians who are aware of what a hybrid is, maybe the fine officials here in Georgia have decided that the long term environmental impacts of the hybrid toyota offers if far more detrimental than the emissions of other vehicles (probably not but that is my justification).

I am from Atlanta originally and I am not surprised. It's not that they are dumb...it's that they are money hungry. I know a place that did tests that admited it to my brother...cause his friend worked there. Corrupt emmissions regulations there!

Georgia could be the next California, except for its really horrible State(ist)Government. They actually tax you to own a Car, as much as 5.7% FMV every year. The people are nice and its a beautifull State, But I have never seen a State more malicious towards its own citizens. I'm transfering back out.
