Galpin pimps Schwarzenegger's '65 Chevy Impala into 'Bio Rocket' for Earth Day
For Earth Day 2007, Galpin Auto Sports, the people behind "Pimp My Ride," have taken a decidedly different approach to their "pimping" by turning a 1965 Chevy Impala SS coupe into an eco-friendly biodiesel-powered beast dubbed the "Bio Rocket."

The Bio Rocket's engine is a supercharged Duramax diesel engine that runs on B100 - 100 percent biodiesel - and carries a pair of staggering performance figures: 800 horsepower and 1400 lb-ft of torque. This power pushes the Bio Rocket from 0-60 in just 3.5 seconds, quite the feat considering that a 1965 Impala can weigh as much 4000 lbs....

Pimp probably became acceptable when the words like "bitchin" and "sick" and "trippin" was also accepted.

The black community have made this word a mainstream word. Pimps, Pimping, Pimped. Whores, Ho's, Ho-Train(WWF), Suck it, and etc. All words people are so used to nowadays from TV, Music and Wrestling entertainment. It's not uncommon to hear these words, even from children & minors.

I think we're missing the point of the article here...how bout another word to throw in the mix. Props to Schwarzenegger for boosting biodiesel. This truly is the way to go until we develop 1000 mpg production cars. I just wish us Americans would wrap our heads around diesel already. They're fun to drive, have better fuel economy with more power than petrol and require less power to generate than ethanol. Has anybody realized that in E85 cars, you usually get about 25% less efficiency when you run E85 as opposed to petrol?

I guess I really shouldn't be blaming the general public. My company had a Congressman (I'll withhold the majority whip's name) speak to us during lunch and when he attempted to field questions about alternative fuels he couldn't respond competantly at all (apparently carbon dioxide was C2O yesterday...). And he supposedly serves on the Energy and Transportation committees. No wonder our country's going nowhere on alternative fuels.
