Born Again In China - Buick Park Avenue

Shanghai General Motors have started production of the Buick Park Avenue for the Chinese market. The Chinese Park Avenue runs on a mighty but frugal V-6 engine that powers the flagship from standstill to 62mph in a respectable 7.8 seconds.

for a big old buick with a V6, that is respectable. You try building a V6 at the same price GM is without direct injection, turbo, or supercharging and getting a faster car.

Not to mention, your average middle-older aged driver who buys a Buick most likely doesn't care about 0-60, so long as its "good enough".

Cool!
Look at the profile. Pure Audi A6 (best selling luxury car in China) with a front-end lifted off a Benz S-Class.
Only the goofy tail-light wrap-around portion on the side is "GM-esque".
Here's proof that the Japanese (and Koreans) aren't the only ones who can copy good design.

Buicks made for China are better than any Buick made for North America. Design & Quality. I wish the Buicks overseas are in the domestic market here too. I'm sick of seeing the ugly ones.

I think they should kill Buick and HUMMER... but Pontiac and GMC are vital at this point.

Pontiac has a slew of new products being introduced, most notably the G8. Of course there's also the halo Solstice, and a REAL throwback GTO under wraps. They have potential, and finally, GM is taking hold of it.

GMC's products are hugely appealing- except the Envoy. Dump the Envoy, and you have the attractive new Acadia, the class-leading Yukon (esp. the Denali) and the luxurious new Sierra. No reason for death there any time soon, as Yukon and Acadia are selling quite well.

buick and pontiac are far from dead.

gmc is useless as it is just chevy trucks.

buick links caddy and chevy together.
it's that entry level luxury bridge.

buick was GMs foundation.
they couldn't kill it.
