Pretty in Pink? Has Barbie Traded in Her VW Beetle For An Audi TT?
So when quattro GmbH says "any color", we're guessing they weren't lying. Here's one you don't see every day - a new TT in pink. Not quite as cool as the "Pink Pig" Porsche 917/20, but hey... it doesn't have meat cuts on it. Still, if we had to go with a pink car, this might be the one. The metallic shade doesn't look half bad with the silver leather. Red would have been too much.

It does seem that it is a chick's car.

What would you expect? Any car would look like a "chick car" in pink.

Color aside, it still looks like a chick car.

If memory serves me correctly it costs about $2500 to select create a custom color for your vehicle.

That little? I'm sure in the UK it's about 2500 pounds, or about 1000 pounds for an Audi colour.
I'm guessing most people here didn't see an article a couple of years back about the woman who had her Boxster in bright pink.
This pink is kind of like the pink you can get with the Honda Jazz (the Fit in the US).

You know, that actually doesn't look that bad. It's not overly gaudy pink, but a good shade.

This not quite as bad as the purple Porsche with magenta interior that a flamboyant wife of a businessman once ordered and, later, it was tough to sell it as a used car because of the color and who formerly owned it. Stay away from ordering weird colors if resale value is important to you!

For what it's worth, I don't think the TT is a "chick car" any more or less so than the BMW Z4, and Mercedes SLK. I think the TT has the best styling out of those three cars and I would love to have one in black with a red interior.

Agreed. The Z4 Roadster and SLK are just as much targeted at women as the TT... the people who drive them care more about style and the badges on the front, and less about the performance and fancy features... they might as well offer all of them with 150hp inline fours and no navigation systems; the women driving them wouldn't care.

There are reports of this tiny Asian gal driving around Phoenix in an H2 Hummer of a similar color with the license plate PTYNPNK.

Just goes to show, anything can look like a chick car in the right color.

I think the new TT is damn nice and not a chick's car in the slightest.

I sure wouldn't opt for the Maxipad edition shown here though.

That's hot! I'd love to give my wife something like that. I wonder how much they charge for paint-to-sample...I think Porsche is charging around $4K these days. Hmmm.

ironically, the majority of tts ive seen were driven by men. i live in oc, cali, btw.

the tt doesnt look so bad in person, especially the new tt. it isnt as small as it appears in picks and the driver has more room & sits much lower than either slk or z4, the slk moreso.

id probably prefer a tt more than a slk; up in the air between the tt & z4. the slk amg looks very nice, but is still has a rather chique presence to it, likely do to its shape.

What do you mean "the tt doesnt look so bad in person?" Sure, it's a chicky car, but it's a style icon. I think it's beautiful, but I probably would never be seen in one.

Z4... not sure, either. I've gotten to like it over the last few months, post-refresh.

SLK. NO. Least-favorite Mercedes. Although that's not saying much, because I love every car in their lineup EXCEPT the SLK... (-;

Heck yes. Girl vs. guy car is so passe. With power steering and such, sports cars/off roaders take no muscles to steer like a long time ago. So pointless to judge much. Plus the 2.0 TT FWD is quicker around the Top Gear track (as driven by the Stig) than the old BMW M3. Take that.
