It would be a travesty to call this an M1. Good looking and knowingly performing like a M car should, still should not be named that.

I understand u'd rather the name be kept fot the prestigious old M1, but here and now, it would be so cool and image boosting to give an M1...

name it the 2 series, and then name the m-sport m2. m1 name should not be touched.

First off, that's tight. Second off as for the naming, if BMW won't use M1, then possible something like 1 M-sport, similar to the Z4 M, or the X5 M (if a thing ever comes to fruition). Though 1 M just sounds weird.

BMW should rename the Z10 concept, to "M1". It comes the closest to emulating the M1 with it's Mid-Engine and exterior design.
